Howdy! I just uploaded a very short video of me testing out my Seax to my new youtube channel. I hope y'all enjoy it even with the extreme amateur nature of the video.

Can I offer a suggestion? Use something softer as a cutting stand. Upright piece of wood...plastic, just not ceramic... If you missed or the blade deflected down, you'd be pissed that you ruined a fireplace and a knife/sword. This is experience talking here...for whatever asshat reason I thought cutting on my anvil was a good idea. That sword was never the same. Just saying....

That’s why I’m building a dedicated stand soon enough. That way I won’t ruin anything and can practice different cuts.

It's the steel on the inside that counts.

That's why I use cardboard tubes. I get 'em free from my work, so.... . You can use paper towel or toilet paper rolls, but they are harder to balance bottles on and don't last as long.

I just stack up rounds of wood. Also makes a good "how much force should I use" on non antiques to see how much force I need to knock a round off.

One of these days I just need to commission a hammer and an ice pick I'll be on the lookout. Start my job this Tuesday!
