This month Sword Nation is giving away one free Civil War cavalry sabre to a member of SBG. There is no purchase necessary. To enter all you have to do is reply to this post. The drawing will be on August 15, 2008.
This drawing is for US residents, however, if you do live out of the US you may still enter but will be asked to pay for shipping. The winner will be contacted though the SBG messaging system.
Best of Luck Richard Taber

Hm...
I'm under 18 (Until 9/22), but this reply is given by my parents if that's acceptable? If not, that's ok....

I would have to call and talk to one of your parents, if they approve then it would be ok.

(Consider this a reply.)

Which civil war sabre is it exactly? (Consider this a reply.) I wouldn't think it exactly anything but the swelled/contoured grips were found on the French 1822 cavalry officers swords, then adopted to the light cavalry swords in American service. Brass scabbard mounts were not found on the period federal cavalry trooper sabre production, nor the imports but were found on Confederate states manufactured scabbards. I'm not sure what the manufacturer might suggest marketing it as but I don't see it listed on Richard's site yet. All other opinion of it witheld from this response. It is a giveaway. Please do not include this as a response for the giveaway. Cheers Hotspur; my thoughts about the reproduction ACW stuff are elsewhere
