One of the best katana collections I’ve seen from the chill Northern Territories! Maybe a pristine German Bastard Sword will mix things up a bit 😉 You can add the Brides O’Katana and tanto to the Armoury soon enough! Watch out for that wily ol’ Ronin as well. His 9 lives guard him well......

Dang, Ouro....went a little camera-crazy there, did we? Nice collection there, man. If I cared at all about Japanese weaponry, I would bow to you as my Samurai Master. But....I have long swords.....COME AT ME, BRO! Seriously....nice pieces. Kinda went a little camera crazy but...*quickdraw,forward leap, slam katana into shield* Don't think I'd win so, instead let us drink of the meade and to Lethe everything else (translation: get drinkin n forget about differences) The best battle is won with sword still in sheath and when Meade and good tales are told Brother Knight--and I enjoy our tales. No master here (Have u seen Verity collection?) Just a humble student of the sword wind and good comrades 🍻 Ouro

Thanks--high praise given what must be lurking in your collection deep in the dungeon below the tower 😉 I enjoy practicing with each one at different times and in different ways . Sharing spot 2 is that gorgeous ryujin sbg custom. The heft of my Ronin--the speed of a unokubi. Hmmmm brides O'Kat...watched Kill Bill just the other night--wheres my set o yellow leathers...😉 Cheers Ouro

Nay sayeth I, my collection be humble yet mighty in its own right. Funny enough I share your love of both the unokubi design and aesthetics, as well as one of my favorites (Ronin Dojo Pro O-Katana)! *guiltily hides Pu**ywagon license plates* 😅

You have a really nice collection Ouroboros. How long did it take you to build that collection?
It will take me some time before I rebuild my collection back to the way it was.

csills2313 thank you very much. I have been collecting sharp and pointy things for 33 years but I did take a 20 year break in there. Most of my unphotographed collection would be wallhangers and a few military antiques along with an assortment of hunting/skinning blades (purely for their utilitarian use). I might have one or two fighters left in my knife collection but ... These swords (with the exception of the last in pseudo gunto mounts and the 25th anniversary shinto) were all purchased second hand, sometimes third or fourth, within the last eight months. Our local classifieds/buy and sell is a great place to spend your time if you're looking for something or just want to post a "want to buy". Top 4 (fully finished swords, that i practice with): SIlver Anniversary Shinto, Hanwei Unokubi, SBG/Ryujin Custom One I'm most looking forward to tsukamaki Kris 26a followed closely by Bo-hi 2. What style of sword do you refer O csills? My guess is your answer will be 'lookit my avatar--now draw and face me!' Ouro

Thanks nerdthenord but I don't think the number of swords qualifies me to be any better or any worse a collector than anyone else. As I understand it, you've placed your custom order and we all know, a custom blade by Rob beats ten production kats from various sources hands down Sometimes the collection is about quality and not quantity. I can't wait to see that gorgeous commisioned piece land in your hands and what kind of review it gets. Cheers! Ouro

I would have many more swords if I wasn’t getting the custom and if I wasn’t an airsofter as well lol. Honestly, my airsoft hobby takes almost as much money as the custom did lol. It feels awesome to join the custom club. I feel like a true warrior now!

I've always considered that owning your own custom was akin to owning an heirloom sword who's purpose, spirit and soul were devoted to protecting your land, your properties, your cattle and your family. You should be proud of all those things which you have achieved on your quest to procure your own purpose branded soul bound blade of legend! Ouro

Oro I love katanas but also love medieval swords shields and armor. I love the way katanas slice. The history behind some of the medieval swords fascinates me. I always was a history buff.
My grandfather and I collected a lot of firearms which included flintlock, percussion and WW I and WW II stuff. He had a dealers license and was able to buy trade and collect weapons.
Grandfather was also a marine during WW II.
We had some swords as well which included medieval stuff. Some were sabers of various flavors. Civil War Sabers included. It was quite a collection but my grandmother insisted on liquidating much of it after his death. I kept some of it though for a long time.
By the way, I have a customized katana on order. Blade will have engraving and some other customization that I requested. I also requested a UNOKUBI-ZUKUBI blade. I ordered back on Sept 5 and it looks like it will take about 10-12 more days before it will ship.
I am eager to see how well this one comes out.

Awesome. Who’d you order it from? I wish my sword would be done in a month and a half lol! It will be 15 months before it is even started, but the good news is I don’t have to pay until it is complete. I still have all the money in a special account and didn’t put the deposit down until I had enough just to be safe though.

I ordered it from Lyuesword. I have bought a couple from them before. For the price I paid in the past they are fairly good swords. Not the best out there but pretty good.
My next purchases are going to be from SBG sword store. I want to purchase a Claymore, Euro sword and later on try some of SBG's katana offerings. Kult of Athena looks affordable. I am still looking over them. Feel free to make some recommendations

I am eager to see how well this one comes out. Gotta tell ya, I love my Unokubi. She's fast, sings a Dominions song and is quick to obey. Who did you order from, if it's ok I ask?I'll just read the next comment next time Collecting anything of historic value has always appealed to me, from the first piece of local history I pulled from the bay (though I'd found an old sparkler wire--turns out when I unearhed it, twas a gold rimmed pair of ships doctors glasses) to my last aquisition of a brittish made 1800s billhook pulled from the locks of my wife's hometown of Kingston. Makers stamp still visible. Used to collect a lot of war (WWI/WWII) relics and battlefield trophies (bayonette, swords, medals, lighters, tins_) but then drifted away from collecting and chased other...prizes. Now that I'm a big ole grown up kid and lookin at 2 kids 10 and 7, I figure it's ok if I get back into collecting some of the things that make me happy and aid in my persuit of one moment of perfect beauty. Every sword I own is used, every arrow fired on the regular. Can't say I've mastered anything--except maybe a lot of steel hanging about my desk The sound of the soul of a dead star parting the wind...closer and closer to that one moment...as straw from the field yields to 30degrees of circular draw and cut...yes...I love a katana too Ouro
