I saw it last night. Chris Pine was fine. I think they didn't want Conan the Barbarian as the lead, and Pine was closer to the real Bruce than Mel Gibson. Historically, it was better than "Kingdom of Heaven," which was gibberish historically, and "Braveheart," which was simply bizarre. "Outlaw" did not have the billion-dollar production value of those films, but it was not a complete absurdity like Ridley Scott's stuff. What makes me angry with Scott's movies is that he substitutes decent writing with special effects. I would have enjoyed both "KoH" and "Brave" if they took place on another planet.
There were a good number of authentic weapons and decent fighting in "Outlaw." The lead actress has amazing breasts.

Keep your eyes on the swords, warhammers, axes, spears, chainmail and the guts and the blood, dammit! This is not SBoobG forum! xD Oh, yeah, you are SO right... but i am an old fart, i am not allowed to look at such stuff anymore... O.o

Douglas the Black? Best character in the movie. He was so crazy, he took Bruce's heart with him into battle (on wishes of the Bruce) in a box (!) but got killed fighting the Moors in Spain - he didn't have a dog in the hunt, he just liked to fight. In battle, he threw Bruce's heart in front of him, saying, "Lead me into battle, brave Heart!"

Pine was in there because they needed a Name, but they really should have avoided trying to play Hollywood's game. NF doesn't do theatrical releases and they don't really understand how it works. But above all, I wonder WHY they did this. Why not focus on making a GOT style miniseries instead? The theaters are dying off. The bulk of theatrical releases suck. There's a lot about the production decisions that confuse me.

All criticism of "Outlaw" has been rendered moot: Shadiversity absolutely loves it! Case closed.
