I don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but have you considered garbage collecting the classifieds automatically? For instance if there has been no activity on thread for X amount of time delete it. Forum members can still bump their threads if there item hasn't sold otherwise there is no point in keeping them around. Outside of the member feedback section. We've been pruning threads in the Classifieds for a while. Any thread that has seen no activity for one full year is removed.

With the worst of the crisis behind us, the pace has slowed down at my end and while the archiving will continue, there is no need for this to be an announcement thread now. 29 days before the official launch of the legendary swords website project, so will also be turning a lot of my attention there - more on this in another thread.

Just one final update here - some great news, I was able to contact Findlithui after getting his email from Brendan and he most graciously agreed to allowing us to publish his tutorials on scabbard making on SBG, and not only that, but provided them in PDF format so they have been uploaded accordingly and given a quick 'ebook' style cover as below: I think it was very good of him to do this and am pleased that the number of tutorials available are more now than they were before the photobucket debacle.
They have been added to a new sticky in the customization section as well.

I have always been a little hesitant to heavily modify and update the main site as it can cause traffic issues and problems with google - but enough is enough - and traffic is already way down anyway, so there is little left to lose except all these good tidbits of information. - Paul
Just wondering, but does the forum software allow you to see the statistics on usage (traffic) from the time you switched to the new site (current) to present day? Be interesting to look at just how many users are on the forum now, in comparison to the "golden age" of the earlier part of this century.
Be more interesting to find out why there is less traffic...though perhaps as with most things, once most topics are covered, that's it.
