Yeah kinda looks like a chicken tbh. But still I want it, like an upgraded eagle head spadroon with Chinese influence. Not gonna shell out more than 500 though, might as well buy an antique after that.

my Jian arrived today, and i have to say I am deeply disappointed, I dont think I could be more disappointed for 1 reason and 1 reason alone, i didnt even bother to look at the quality of the sword or anything else, I unboxed it and I saw they had sent me the wrong sword, I had ordered the King of Qin Jian and was instead sent the King of Chu Jian, the literal one that I liked the least, I am pretty done with this and am probably gonna ask for a refund Attachments:![20180420_005809.jpg](//storage.forums.net/1694914/thumbnailer/ODLmvbevwjPJtsYuVogU.png)

also why in the name of god did they color in the ferrules on the king of chu jian, in the original listing they are gold colored brass like the fittings, but the one they sent me was colored black, I have also noticed that the pommel is completely different from advertised on the sword page and also has a black smear going around it, I am deeply disappointed by this sbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-guide.com/product719.html

Jeez Louise, man. I'm sorry to hear that. After the wait I was hoping you'd get something to blow your socks off. Don't know what to say except that I hope they straighten it out and your real sword is righteous.

Seriously though... The designs on the fittings just look goofy compared to the Qin. Really sorry to hear that, I would be super irritated given the price range let alone waiting weeks to get the wrong piece... Christ you have no idea, i think this is the most unhappy ive been with a purchase since i started, if it was just the fact that it was the wrong piece i would be less upset, but its the wrong piece + defects on the wrong piece i get

How do you feel about getting the other Han style instead? i like the qin one the best, then the han one, this one is all the way at the bottom just for the fact its a whole pound heavier for some reason and the fittings look stupid to me, not just the qin scabbard but the fittings on the sword itself is more to my taste, everything looks so much better

Ah geez, that sucks. I'm not going to lie, those fittings really don't impress, let alone for the price. Hope the return goes smoothly and the next buy goes better. To be honest, from the other reviews of the forge direct Chinese swords I've seen (which are pretty few in number) you're probably best off going for the refund, sadly.

Just because its different wouldn't make it a "defect," I wouldn't think. I mean there's nothing with the sword that's wrong, dangerous, broken, etc? Unless there's something else wrong with the sword that I missed? Bummer your shopping experience wasn't the best; I hope you can get a refund in a timely manner.

I didnt bother to handle the sword, I didnt even fully unbox it i just left it in the packaging it came in so im not sure if there is anything else wrong with it, im just so done with this sbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-guide.com/product719.html

Wow, I'm sorry about that man. First a delay, then getting told you can't cancel, and then getting the wrong sword that doesn't even fit the description.
I'd call it a defect too as it looks like they used the black smear stuff to try and color in the recessed bits, but then forgot to wipe it off the raised bits.

That helps show the difference between the advertised sword and what you received. The advertised sword does look better, imo. But its not even the sword you ordered, so its kind of a moot point. I'm not really in to jians. If its a Chinese style blade, I prefer daos. But yeah, stinks you had a bad experience with this. You're going for a refund rather than exchange for the sword you actually ordered? Best of luck with which ever way you choose to go. \

The heck? That doesn't even look like the wrong jian from the site, just something different entirely. Completely different pommel design (that looks much less refined to boot). What a weird mess up.

I don't think there is pins but I have not even picked it up fully to check because it's not even close to what I ordered but from the pics no there is no pin. I don't even want to look at it for too long cause it just irritates me to do so
