Basically the title. Is the wait time for one of Albion's squire line swords the same as most of their swords?

i think its the same amount of time, but it would be best to ask them on their website, or even better call them

I imagine without the custom options that there might be less of a wait if someone ordered one then backed out. Squire line swords come unsharpened unless you ask though, right? Thought I doubt that's a problem for you.

Yeah. Grips sometimes make all the difference. I saw Huerta do a very nice scabbard/grip redo on a squire line a while back...

How do you find the quality of the edge that they put on? It's not the blended edge of the higher end models. It has a clearly visible secondary bevel of 2+mm at the widest. However, it's clean, and comes to a well-executed point. Definitely more refined than the typical MRL / KOA Sharpening job. It’s just shy of arm-hair-shaving sharp. I’m well pleased with the sword. Not thrilled about the 11 month wait - truth be told. And I do wish the grip was a bit beefier. OP - Which SL model are you considering?

I've been considering the 15th century bastard sword and then having a friend redo the grip and edge to bring it more in line with what albions swords are usually like.

Maybe one day their wait times will come down...

Their wait time varies but you will never know for sure how long your wait will be as what they give you is VERY much an estimate You will end up waiting longer for the wait times to go "down" than for an actual sword, it's the most painful of waits My first Albion got done in 6 months, the two I am currently waiting on are on their 10th, you'll never know.
