I too bought some of the left over movie blades from Mr. Dreier of Roninswords. here's what I have: here's a look at the grain (it's hard to get a picuter of this): if you cannot tell from the pictures (I have a hard time) they are not all katana. I have (starting from the bottom) one tanto, one katana, and three tachi blades. the sides of the tachi blades that you cannot see are etched from having sat in some water but it's not too bad and I'm sure I can restore them to their former beauty. I have one of them completely cleaned of etching already except for a small amount inside the bohi wich is actually quite attractive and I think I'll leave it (got a good pattern to the etch) also being inside the bohi I don't see it causing any drag when cutting. it's going to be a little (read long) while before I can really work on these steady since I am out of town at some training and not due back home until September-October. in the mean-time I will be looking into fittings and taking suggestions on what to do with them. I'm thinking I'm going to go whole-hog and make my tsuka and saya from scratch instead of trying to find a production model that fits. Cheness tsuka do not fit, I tried that with my old Kaze tsuka.
