To all of you who have photos posted here through Photobucket, beware. Without warning, they have disabled access to third party hosting... photobucket.com/p500/...and "updated" their terms of service: photobucket.com/termsNo more free image hosting. They want you to upgrade to a "Plus 500 Plan" to restore access to third party hosting...at a cost of $400 a year. Photobucket can kiss my pucker. I signed up on Imgur, and will now have to spend a good amount of time fixing all of my posts. Be forewarned folks, Photobucket got greedy...

... I'm seriously tempted to go on an extremely enraged rant at the moment, but it'd basically devolve into strings of increasingly creative profanity that'd be blocked by SBG's stupid filter, so what's the point?
I have more than 300 semprini images to re-upload; guess what I'm going to be doing for the next few days.
Ugh.
Thanks for the heads up, Voltan. I don't upload as frequently as I used to, so I probably wouldn't have noticed this until some time down the road and been even more furious than I already am.

That does indeed suck. I got the email last night, but it was in my junk folder and I've been getting so many of those fake offer/disaster/cancellation emails that I assumed that this was a fake too, seeing as how unreasonable it is. Couldn't possibly be real. Looks like I was wrong.
Question for Pinterest users: Can you link the images as a 3rd party like you can(could) on Photobucket? Will it show up as an image or just a link? I ask mainly because 3rd party hosting eliminates the issue with eating up the forums attachment memory.

Was wondering that same thing myself, so I just nabbed this from a random folder on WorldAntiques' Pinterest; used [/img] and it shows up on my end just fine. It's one of their uploaded images rather than something they pinned, so it may be different there.

Hmmm. None of my old photos show up, but one I just now uploaded does. Like I said, I didn't read the email, so I don't know if this will change. If it does, I just opened Imgur and Pinerest accounts.

Just picked a picture I uploaded yesterday morning, more to come on the sword.
I do have the $2.49 per month account.

I've had a Photobucket account for years, with hundreds of photos, including what little of the "Forged in SBG" competition I got to do. Haven't gotten to check on those embeds yet, but I will here shortly.
Otherwise, heck, I haven't used Photobucket in ages. I hate their website, especially on mobile, and their app is even worse. I'm not about to start paying for something that used to be free, either. Especially without extra incentive. Removing features is the opposite of this, and shoving all those ads down my throat was bad enough...
I'm too lazy to set up imgur etc and I'm not about to bother transferring the mostly-useless photos I have saved cos my Photobucket account to another server, so I guess I'll just take this one on the chin and move on with my life...
Edit: So far at least one of those threads still shows photos, so I'll not worry about it right now.

Lets see. I just checked on some old threads from another forum and ALL of my Photobucket linked images are gone now....sucks big time. I have been using Pinterest ever since I found out about it and it blows all other photo hosting galleries away, I have over 30,000 images stored there and I have never had a problem linking images, in seconds I can upload from my computer to Pinterest and link the image, just like i did now.

Not sure what the deal is here guys, but my pics are fine. I just posted a bunch last night on here and they're still up, along with all my other thread pics. I damn sure don't pay $400/year, I think its like $30/year for my account. I just looked at the updated terms on photobucket and it does say that the only plan that offers unlimited 3rd party hosting (or any 3rd party hosting for that matter) is $400/year. WTF?? I'm hoping that I'm grandfathered in or something since I already have a plus account, but if not, they can eat a fat one. That's bull!@#$. It still works for me for some reason, maybe they forgot about me

Oh man, I'd love to get my hands on whoever had that idea. I need to redo all the pics on my website. Don't think I'll do all my old threads, that's just too much work. DAMN you photobucket.

Martin Shkreli is the piece of scum you're looking for; if you think I'm overreacting based on what happened with Photobucket, read some of the stuff he's done in the last few years and you'll agree that calling him scum is being exceedingly polite.

Lol he owns photobucket? Figures the guy who ups the cost of terminal disease medicine would be the type to do this sempr!ni.
Anyway used to photobucket but switched to imgur years ago for the convenience and lack of annoying ads. Might go pinterest later since they're more likely to last. (And my wife uses it).

Yup, all my reviews are now trashed. I've been hating photobucket for years now mostly because the site is awful and loads slow etc. but it wasn't too bad back in the day so a lot of my stuff is there. Most of my threads are busted now. Thanks A hole!
