From my limited experience with both Tinkers and Albions I can say the handling is equally good. But the tinker is a lot heavier than the 2 albions I've had so it's not an exact comparison. No Atrims here sadly The best handling swords I have ever handled were the ones from Maciej Kopciuch though, simply stunning

Fel, I had a quick chat with Skall about his "Viking-esque" Albion swords when he first got them, and not only are those bad boys worth every penny, but I do believe they are some of the less $$$ of the Albion clan. Still $1000 US and up, but more affordable than the rest of Albions stuff. I've been eyeballing one or two Darksword Armory (the Warmonger, and Wolfsbane) which don't fit in the budget right now : ( Oh. I've no doubt Albion is worth the price. I've been eyeing their Crecy for some time (surprisingly sub-1000$ for a longsword), I - have had almost no experience with Viking/Saxon blades to decide if I'd like them or not. I would definitely buy something cheaper first to try it out. I keep hearing complaints about the Crecy's short grip though... and that's remedied with the Borderwatch (Christian Fletcher) who uses Albion blades for his designs - with a longer tang and grip, in the Crecy/Borderwatch's case. I've heard great things about many European smiths, Robert - but for me here in the states, it's just sometimes a matter of 'is it worth the hassle?'. I know, the other way around is much worse from all accounts - and that sucks. Maybe some day I'll explore European makers once I sort out what I want from around here.

Fel, my exposure with Viking swords is relegated to my Ronin Viking sword (whose handle is kinda small for my meaty paws), and the Hanwei Viking sword I used to have (more space on the hilt for my hand). I wish I had more experience to draw off of 😅

(quotes because I am aware they are not correct historically) are: Christian Fletcher Shieldmaiden The recent collab between Mike Jia and Sonny Suttles on a Sountaka The DSA Einar (which i won't buy due to too many fears of DSA tangs, and weight issues) The Valiant Armoury Hademark is "ok"

Historically accurate or not, that Shieldmaiden just screams "hump me, but add antiseptic to any puncture/slash wounds 😉

Lots of folks ask me what I have in the wings. So I think I will share rather than build the suspense...
This does not determine order as some have varied timelines and not positive completion times.
1.) the one I CAN say will be next to arrive is an Atrim XIIa.2 that I have coming once it is finished being paid for.
2.) I have a pair of fantasy scimitars being made by Lonely Wolf Forge
3.) I have a 4-sword commission enqueued with Cedarlore Forge. Just waiting for Dave to get to me in the queue. I am one of his (if not THE) last commissions he is doing.
Of course new items always pop up and strike my fancy but these are the KNOWN and in-progress upcoming additions.
Come February (annual bonus), I anticipate at least one or two toys being added as well. Good chance another very nice Nihonto like my Masamitsu...
Just wanted to pass along what's in the works

Each will be distinct but made to "feel" all part of a unified set. Each will be a true masterpiece of the scale (or better) than his Telpenar...
