Hi guys, I've had an order in place with Albion through KoA for just over a year now for their Knecht. The initial estimates for wait time were 3-6 months. I've contacted KoA if they can give me an updated ETA, but so far they haven't been able to provide one. What's everyone's wait time been on Albion blades recently. I realize it can vary drastically depending on the circumstances, but this does feel unusually long.

For half a second I read 91 months.
I think Skallagrim's love affair with the Knecht boosted its sales by quite a bit. I love the Knecht and want one in the future, but I initially felt that messers were a niche sword in the sword collecting world.
Good luck with your order!

reaverreader I'm in the exact same boat. I ordered a Gallowglass from KoA almost exactly a year ago, just before the sword was listed as sold out on either the KoA or Albion sites. I emailed KoA at the 6-month mark and received a similar response. They changed the wait times on the site to 6-8 months shortly after. I was budgeting for a second Albion near the end of the year, but didn't want to buy another without receipt of the first and started to get "that itch", so I pulled the trigger on a Lockwood two months ago. That sword will probably end up beating the Albion into my hand at this rate.

I won't say that Skall's on screen orgasm with the Knecht didn't have anything to do with my decision to get it, but it did represent a gap in my collection and thought it would make a worthy first Albion. Guess I'll just buckle down and keep waiting. Thanks for the responses guys.

Yes the knetch is a good looking sword and would love to either get one or a rather similar custom messer if funds were available

The Knecht is a great handling and cutting sword, you won't be disappointed.

I am trying to find a used albion. Simply to avoid the wait. I was going to order an Arn through KOA this weekend, but the thought of waiting a year plus is giving me second thoughts.
Do you know if certain swords are made quicker than others? If any of there cheaper/popular ones like the Knight would be made quicker? 6-8 months is one thing, but a year...I don't know if I have that kind of patience.

I would just give Albion a call directly and ask if they have anything ready if you're not particular to which exact blade you want. Usually they're pretty good over the phone. Otherwise you'll be in the same boat as the rest of us.

I'm currently waiting on an Albion Knight since April via KoA. I sent them a mail after 6 months and they told me they are behind in production.

I have a question for those who have dealt with Albion Swords for a while, do they tend to replace retired models with new ones of a similar design? Should we expect them to come out with a new two-handed kriegsmesser anytime soon?
Also, I would like to share that I recently placed an order for my first new Albion sword direct from the manufacturer, and waiting has been a lot harder than I thought it would be. I expected I would be cool and nonchalant about the process, and I've never had an issue waiting on a custom order previously. This time something is different for me. I keep hitting up their website (and MyArmoury.com) and ogling the photos of it like pornography. I clearly need to be medicated.

Each model has a limited run and when the number comes up they retire it. New models come out rarely, like as in years apart. Periodically they come out in 2 or 3 at a time and then they they take a considerable amount of time after that for more.
As for waiting, it's tough, but best if you find some distraction to keep your mind off it.

Should we expect them to come out with a new two-handed kriegsmesser anytime soon? Albion seems not to re-release designs and market their products as limited-run collectibles. The just-retired Knecht was actually the Knecht Mark II, but I think it was a design change during the original production run. If you really want a quality kreigsmesser you could look into get a custom like this one by Arms & Armor.

You have to wait for the Lady of the Lake to appear in a body of calm water. The Albion will come when.. and if.. you are worthy of it.
