I ordered mine on June 27th and just got the shipping notice yesterday, so 6.5 months for me.

He ordered the Arn. I'm more curious whether he ordered from Albion directly or through KoA.

Hi drachen!
I'm curious about your recent purchase by Lockwood. May I know what sword did you buy?
I ask you this question because I personaly own a Lockwood since a month now. It's the XIIa type sl-1013. I'm very happy with that sword. It's solid and very well build. I must also admit that my interest in swords is specifically focused on XIIa and XIIIa swords.
I'm already looking with envy on his XIIIa sl-1011.

It's a SL-1009 and I'm hoping for it to arrive next month. I love pointy-stabby late medieval anti-armor swords like the type XVa and XVIIIa/b/c/d swords, and that one looked very elegant, especially with the slim crossguard. I was really eyeing the Albion Agincourt, but I honestly like the design of the SL-1009 better. I subsequently saw that Skallagrim has the same model and likes it.
The SL-1013 looks pretty sweet and it's awesome that you're enjoying it. Have you tried cutting with it yet? So far everything I've heard about Lockwood has been very positive, but there's not a lot of discussion out there. There are a couple of threads and a review here, a couple threads on myarmoury and some videos by Skallagrim. I definitely want to post a review or something after I get mine.

With you and leviathansteak both getting your swords recently, I'm holding out hope that they are shipping a big batch out now and that KoA will receive their batch next week for shipment. That's probably wrong because I tend to work myself up into an excited froth based on specious speculation.

I eventually cancelled an order not long ago that I had put in with KOA for an Albion Earl last February. I had passed the 9 month mark and no one seemed to want to give me an accurate ETA. It wasn't a huge deal, but I paid in full up front and there were other things, other swords etc... that I could have used that money on. On a side note, I have an Albion Knud for sale that was only used once if you don't feel like waiting *wink*

I placed an order on KOA in june 2016 for an Albion Senlac and an Albion Poitier (both Brown grips). When i placed my order, the advertised waiting time was 4 to 6 months. I'm still waiting.
I sent an email to KOA after 6 months (in december 2016). They told me it would most likely take 8 months before the order is shipped to me. I sent another email to KOA last week, it's been 8 months now since my order, and i'm still waiting an answer from KOA.
I have a bad feeling it will take many more months before i see these swords -_- I just hope they will arrive in perfect condition, without flaws...
I already own a Crecy, a Gaddhjalt and a poitier (black grip). Can't wait to add the Senlac to my collection.
I love the poitier so much that i could not stop myself from buying another one with a brown grip. I will sell the poitier black grip when the new one arrive.

You may be waiting a while longer. I'm still waiting and I placed my order beginning of January 2016...
KOA did update their expected wait times though.

"Special Order - Wait time may exceed a year" Though they only state that for about half the available swords. But i think it's true for any Albion at this point.

They might have meant 8 months after you contacted them, not 8 months after your original order because I'm close to hitting 15 months on my KOA Albion order.

Well if it is any comfort, at least albion is very good with responding to emails and such. It is rather worrying to me when paid commissions run late and no responses are given to emails. I do hope the wait times come down eventually as i'm reluctant to make any more albion purchases if i have to wait a year or more for it.

Thanks, but it's little comfort. Many of the people who have waited over a year purchased from Kult of Athena, not Albion directly. KOA is a reseller and is relatively responsive to emails, but has little information to offer, whether that's Albion not being communicative or KOA not following through. Probably both. I've had to chase down KOA orders in the past and it's very clear Albion has massive capacity problems at the moment. It's also clear from this thread that priority is given to direct (rather than retail) sales by Albion by at least 6 months, so I've definitely ordered my last Albion from KOA.

I'm guessing that koa might place the albion orders in batches so that they don't have to micromanage individual orders. This might explain the longer waiting time as you're waiting for other people's orders as well.

An update! I just got an email from KOA today saying my Albion is in their warehouse and they wanted confirmation on my address before shipment. Assuming it arrives next week, that will be almost exactly 15 months since I made the order.

I'm guessing that koa might place the albion orders in batches so that they don't have to micromanage individual orders. This might explain the longer waiting time as you're waiting for other people's orders as well. Along similar lines - i was thinking that maybe Albion fulfills their KOA orders in batches to save on shipping costs. This could possibly cause delays for some finished orders - that then need to wait for more to be completed before being delivered to KOA. From what i've been able to gather, KOA's shipping prices are less expensive than Albion's (about $20 less expensive to NY). And the swords themselves are about $20 cheaper on KOA. So KOA is still able to have a profit margin despite selling the blades for less and charging less to ship. Meaning Albion must sell to KOA at a significantly reduced price to make this possible for KOA. Meaning, in turn, that Albion must reduce their costs somehow to not lose money on the deal. I'm guessing batch shipping might help with that.

Well congrats on getting it - (or nearly so). 15 mo. is indeed a long time - especially when your expectations are 6 - 8 mo. i hope you'll feel it was worth the wait. I ordered a Squire Line sword direct from Albion last year - it took 8.5 mo. Ordered an Albion Vassal from KOA 1 month ago. Will see how long that takes.

Even KoA mentiones "over a year" wait time,so I suspect a loong time unfortunately. IMHO It's long even for full custom jobs, but for a company it's unthinkable. They should hire some new people/get a second CNC since the demand is high, but the supply low. If their wait time was shorter I too would order something from them but at this point getting a full custom is way easier
