I am unfamiliar with this steel, what percent carbon is it? is it a decent steel for swords? also what is bog wood and why is it so expensive?

It's basically 5160 with a little bit more chromium (5160 is 0.7-0.9% Cr, 58CrV4 is 09.-1.2% Cr). 58CrV4 also has 0.1-0.2% vanadium. About 0.6% carbon (the standard is 0.55-0.62%; the standard for 5160 is 0.56-0.64%). Should be a good steel for swords. Bog wood is wood that's been buried in peat bogs. Sometimes for a long time. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bog-wood

Not much at those levels. Maybe a little bit more brittle, but not enough to be a problem. Looking at the iron-chromium-carbon phase diagram, this shouldn't be a problem until you get to about 8% Cr.
At the levels in 5160 and 58CrV4, it'll add wear resistance and make the steel deeper hardening.

Just from the looks of it I would stay away, milling machine build, bad fuller. Pommel will stick the hell out you during use. Have no idea what the tang looks like. Looks like it is real heavy, as deep as the fuller is it would have to be real thick.

Never bought or handled anything by them. They don't list useful stats like length, weight, POB, thickness, length of grip etc. But they might tell you if you ask. Might be OK if you're a big Witcher fan, or you're just after a fancy fantasy sword. I'm not, so I wouldn't buy it. Their Anduril looks OK.

The fuller isn't the problem for me, can't do the bronze guard or pommel. Contact brother banzai about doing it. And yes he will most likely be higher, but he's worth it. The blade I can do.

Hi, just to let u know, I ordered this sword already and am waiting for it now. I asked similar questions, the pommel is peened and covered with a layer of bronze to hide. The length of blade is around 35inchs and they can adjusted according to our request. I had same concern about he spiky pommel so they made new design of the pommel and guard for me. Forgot about the weight.
also i had very good experience talking to them. They are willing to take my designs and build the custom hiltings, also shorten the blade and make longer grip for me. Very friendly and nice, showed me photos of the progress. I haven't got the sword so I can't say for their works.

Btw I m not against machine milled blade, I thought it is not much different than forged one, given both properly heat treated. Am I wrong? Should I be concerned about something? Thanks!

You aren't wrong but you should be against a badly milled one like this one is.

Based on the fuller?

The fuller is a dead give away, also you can tell by the fuller it is a very heavy thick blade. But you've ordered one so it doesn't matter.
