Saw through FB that Ron Chen won sword of the year for his amaterasu katana. Saw the making of that and it was well deserved.

I was there today. Lots of cool stuff. Hanwei had a prototype of a type xiv collaboration with Gus Trim. It is on the light and slender side of the type, but that is not a bad thing at all. Very lively in the hand and responsive with a comfortable grip. This one won't power through the bind, but it will flick in a way that the Windlass offering never could.

No idea what they are going to call it or what the time frame is on the development. As far as I know, they have only made the one prototype based on Gus' sword/specs.
