From my new custom Huawei T10 heavy niku shirasaya katana This one has a weird splotch on the top near the mune - ignore it - I'm thinking it's a reflection of the flash since the blade doesn't have anything there. I need to take better pics... these were taken with my iPhone 7 Plus Angles with phone flash enabled work well. A LED blacklight is also great. Reveals activity.

Dynasty Forge bushi tanto. I'm not a fan of the way they "enhance" the hamons on their bushi line, but it's still nicer than a wire brushed hamon. Attachments:

It warms my heart to see so many people who are using UV to get a better image of the hamon and structure of their sword. It not only reveals hamon at one angle, but actually diminishes it so actual structure can be seen. It helps settle whether a blade is more than simply Damascus, and is one of the more complex structures like SanMai, Shihozume, Gyaku Kobuse, etc.
