Thanks to Pogo 4321 and Draven I have a new obsession I am going to try to forge out every one of the falcate on these charts. Already have A and B and D , almost have D finished. The Steel came in this week so I can do C this weekend if things go right I'll have D finished might even get E did. There will be 41 to forge out maybe more. Wish me luck on my obsession. Choose your favorite save your money to get it when it's finished. I will still take custom ordered during this time of obsession. L,M,N and O are not going to be easy to do. L,M and N just look funny. Anybody else want to joint me I my obsession.

By the time you finish all of these you'll be very good at forging falcata. Time to start saving.

Hopefully I will be able to get the horse did at least once on the tang. Tried twice keep ending up a birds head. Think I need to make a square bricken for my anvil. Using the trail on the anvil isn't working out very well right now.

I am saving money now. Is there a rough ballpark figure as to how much these would cost?

Depends on the design the simpler ones will be around $150.00. Going up to around $400.00 for the bigger more complex designs. Like I've said I am way to cheap, someday I won't be.

Those are really good prices! And quite ambitious to make all those designs. And you going to use a chain to connect the ricasso to the pommel? And are you also carving animal heads on the complex designs?
I don't think I want to forge any, too much work. I have made many (traditional and my version) by stock removal. My version is what I call a recurve bowie.

No chains or fancy animal heads, just keep the handle simple to keep cost down. If some wants a fancy grip they can buy a bare blade do it themselfs or have some one else to it. I make simple working man blades.

Working man's blades are the best, get the job done and nothing fancy to break off. Plus, you can actually use them and not be afraid of damaging an expensive item.
