Here are some websites that debunk fringe/pseudo history, archaeology, science, etc. The first two cover the latest "find" in Nova Scotia, and all of them cover bad history, archaeology, and science. By bad I don't mean the history itself, but the dubious and unscientific methods fringe thinkers use to arrive at and support their claims (which are always "earth-shattering"). www.jasoncolavito.com/blogwww.andywhiteanthropology.com/blogbadarchaeology.wordpress.com/violentmetaphors.com/Could other Europeans have arrived in the Americas before the Vikings (I'm talking about L'Anse aux Meadows, not Minnesota, Narragansett, etc.)? Sure. Is there any solid evidence? No.

You know having a theory is one thing as long you say it's your theory. I hate when these frauds deliberately falsify things to make their theories look like facts. There should be some major penalties for that. They're trying to alter history for their own gains.

I just think that you guys are giving this way too much attention and time. I think you guys are suffering from confirmation bias and I don't see any point in this discussion.

Well William M in case you haven't noticed, this post has gone beyond the fake sword. If the subject doesn't interest you by all means don't take part in it.

I think it is important to talk about these things. If everything posted as news went unchallenged, well, that would be a great loss for everyone.

It's also important to to keep on our toes and keep an eye on these frauds who are trying to rewrite history. The problem with the internet is once it's posted it's hard to get rid of it. It will still keep popping up from time to time as this one will.

Nothing wrong with rewriting history. There just needs to be the evidence for it.

Well I would call that discovering history and that's a great thing. I think we all know there's a lot of history that still hasn't been discovered yet. That's what annoys me when someone fakes it because it is so exciting when something is discovered. A lie might be interesting right up until you find out it's a lie.
