Is he still making custom blades? Any chance to reach him for a commission?

I understand he is still making blades on a very limited basis and selling them through KoA, he is also supposedly making blades for his many back orders from the past few years.
However given what has transpired regarding non fulfilled orders, slow orders (years when advised months), no refunds and poor communication I'd look elsewhere for your commission.

Wow. Big price tag. But they are magical and mystical swords so I guess that's about right.

I really like the short sword, but dang, $1300 is a bit much. Didn't these sell around $400-600 when they were still being made?

If I remember correctly, ATrims on KOA within the last 6 months were priced under $1,000.00 ($850.00?). If people are willing to pay $1,300.00 for them now , I guess that's what they're worth.

I know who this guy is, he is a renaissance vendor and he sells his stuff over priced.

Gus's blades have almost always been severely underpriced for what they are. People who got them during that point (myself included) were very fortunate because swords of that quality for that price will probably never happen again. Per the OP, I don't think Gus is even taking commissions anymore (someone more knowledgeable please feel free to jump in and correct me if I'm wrong). From what I understand, these pieces we're seeing for sale are just to fill out his batches and they get sold to vendors.

I have a couple of old ones left but still kind of attached to them His first XIIIa model bought through Albion and a one off XIIa 1319 with an eight inch grip, The polish horrendous but they have been working swords. They were both over $400 more than a decade ago. Keep an eye on forums lists, as They do pop up once in awhile.
Gus had been working with The Age of Chivalry dude back to the Tinker Toys endeavor at the end of the last century.

I have owned several over the years. Still have an older CF version longsword with scabbard and a VA from Sonny with a real ATrim blade.
I guess I am in the minority of buyers who can take or leave them. I like Lundemo, Albion and A&A more.

Gus does not take commission anymore. He is slowly doing sort of a combo of finishing off his backlog from the Tried and True swords and also making a few new ones that he sends to KOA or the vendor mentioned above to he can keep the lights on and pay the bills. I don't think you will ever see the day of him taking pre-orders ever again.

I handled few Atrims. Sadly sold one and keeping my first love(Maeglas Atrim/Fletcher). I don`t think i would ever sell it unless i have to. If i do, not less than a Odin or Fable custom commission. Atrims are highly underrated and under priced.

I was fortunate to be able to purchase several Atrims when they were available over the last year through KOA. . They are great swords. But I have to agree that those listed above are priced way above what I payed at KOA. But if he sells them at Renn fairs then maybe he's able to get more for them. But It is also my understanding that Gus is no longer taking orders and is only producing Swords to fill old back orders, and then selling the extras from each batch to KOA and this other seller apparently.

Four ATrims just showed up in the New Additions section of KOA. Three shortswords and an arming sword. Priced from $800.00 to $850.00. I am Strongly tempted to get one of the shorties, but I am resisting. If you want one, you should jump on it fast. There aren't many opportunities these days to get a new ATrim (or a used one) And the Shorties are rare indeed.

I've been looking at these swords quite a bit since they popped up, especially the two XVIII shorties. I noticed that they both start out at a bit less than 3/16" thick at the base of the blade - is this normal for Gus' Shorties w/o fullers?
