Has anyone seen or heard anything about this sword? This is what I've always imagined Drizzt Do'Urden's scimitars look like.

Looks like a nice sword. Not sure if it is worth that much money, even as cool as it is. I wish there was a cheaper version of it. $350 is a bit steep for a nice "machete".

Not sure what machete grade means- anyone?
But $350 seems like a great low price to me especially considering the blade profile and bevels. Looks like a complex design imho.

I think machete grade means that it can be used to the degree of a machete. Now that I take a closer look, it does appear to have quite the complex blade shape. The acid etch is nice, but not my style. I wonder how function the sheath setup is.

Zombie Tools... either their style is for you or its not. That said, the actual weapons themselves are well made, and made in America which means the costs are a lot higher then over seas.

Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to handle zombie tools weapons. That statement was based on what I have heard from several comments on different forums. The blade shape and geometry are clearly not that of a machete, and based on what I've learned since then, it is and handles nothing like a machete. I'm planning on ordering a Sinbad soon, and I will update my opinion once I've handled it. That may be a while though... 7-8 weeks is a long time to wait

Hey Bennettsnipes, I don't know if its to late, but I share your sentiment regarding the acid etching so I asked the guys at ZT and they said they offer a satin finish by request. All you have to do is put it in the notes box during checkout.

I have the d’Capitan in satin finish. It's a pretty cool sword, really well made and for what it is well worth the price tag. Keep in mind that these swords are built for a purpose, normal use right up to very hard use these things are as solid as a rock with a thick robust edge. But handeling is not their strong point, the balance isn't bad it's just not as good as a more historical sword.

Thanks for the responses. I have a Sinbad coming to me from a trade, and I am really looking forward to handling it. After seeing some more pictures, the acid etch actually looks rather nice to me, and its one more thing protecting the blade from scratching and rust.
