It's a gripping series, it's not just mindless zombie killing. Rather it's a tale of human psyche and how we would rebuild after a complete collapse of society. The zombies are just a plot device really, sort of like an allegory for mass pandemics or power outages. The living are actually a much worse problem in the series by season 5.

TWD is our favorite show, it's so popular that they have a talk show about it on right after the show ends... :D
The the spinoff show that is in production will be interesting in that it might show what's going on in the rest of the world.
I always wondered if I was in their shoes would there be a point when I said F**k it, I don't want to live like this anymore...and did suicide by zombie.

My wife and I love the walking dead and are really looking forward to its return. We also really love the new series Marco Polo, well worth your time.

Oh yeah! Count me in too! I avoided it for the first couple seasons and then I caught up all at once, too. Can't wait for the second half of the season. I have a Michonne lookalike katana too.

I saw the first episode of the second season at a Halloween-type party at a friends house and thought it was okay, not great. Then my mother wanted to see it and I got her a bunch of them and watched it with her. Really a good show, and I don't generally watch TV unless it's a documentary, martial arts or car show. I'm behind, but plan to catch up one of these days.

I read that even the show that talks about the show was pulling in higher ratings than a bunch of other regular shows in the same time slot, lol. I think it's a good show but if it got cancled tomorrow, I would be upset for about 10 minutes and then move on. I just hope it doesn't kick me in the $emprini later with a crap ending like Dexter did -Josh

I don't think we have to worry about the ending to TWD for a while. It's the most watched show on tv currently

Two of the all-time worst series endings in tv history I do hope twd continues for a long time but all it takes sometimes is an idiot network exec or a bad writer with bright ideas and thhpptt! -Josh

I like zombie fiction in video games too, though they normally have a comedy and arcade element to them that takes away from the survival horror theme as a whole. More often that not they're a string of cliches and arcade style head-bashing, but like Justin I think the real horror in ZA fiction is from other survivors. Very few titles in the genre really portray that sense of doubt and danger. Killing a guy for his one can of pork'n'beans, or because he had shoes and you didn't, can get pretty intense until it eventually becomes the norm. Then things get really interesting. Maybe people being semprinis to each other is what gets people off.

I started watching it and got hooked. I am not into the whole zombie thing but could see how it might compare to a major infection of the population with an incurable plague that severely impaired upper brain function among other things. Non-infected people would have to take extreme measures to survive and keep from being infected.
The human stories and relationships are what makes the show. After a few episodes, the zombies are not really scary unless one pops up in your face out of nowhere.

I never watched Lost but many coworkers loved the show. I caught a half dozen Dexter episodes because my wife was into it but the whole serial killer thing just didn't do anything for me. My wife would say "but Bill, he is killing the bad guys" and I would just look at her and say that there are no good serial killers.
