Duly noted and I agree. I've tried reaching Jacky many times to no avail, a few hours ago being the most recent. None of the messages came with reply.

Shishitomoe, have you tried sending a new email or are you replying in a previous chain? I ask because he didn't respond to me regarding my last order until I began a new email. As Chris said, he might be pushing conversations back in his archives.

At first I was replying in the previous line of conversation, but for the last couple months, Ive started with fresh chains every time. I also emailed sohpie.chen***@gmail but with no luck. By the way Cottontail Customs has been very inspirational to me over the last year or so since I discovered you. Amazing work, really. I'd die for your tsukamaki skills.

You'll never guess who made a liar out of me! I just got a message from quite possibly my favourite person. Jacky said they'd finish the swords as soon as possible, and sincerely apologized (which really wasn't called for). I insisted to take as long as required when I made the order. So guys, the message I sent early yesterday hit the mark. (Or at least prompted a reply). I don't think I'll have to wait another ten months so I'll let you know when they show.
I guess things are looking up but I'll save the big sigh of relief when I get the parcel notice from the post office. In the meantime, perhaps I'll share some pictures of my humble collection thus far. Like a katana-a-day sort of thing. Any suggestions for a more appropriate thread to display?

i have absolutely no complains on my end, he said 15 days to make the blade and it was about it plus 15 days of shipping (which is about right with customs in the calculations) when i was wondering when it will be done i got it at my door lol so i hope you'll get it soon... really sucks when it takes a lot of time like this...

Jackie sent me an Ebay message/email last week with pics of two blades. My custom blade he said had been done but had a small flaw so he made another, prior to Chinese Spring Festival...which was approx one month. He said no internet in his village (seems he went home to family...seems some worker families not close enough for workers to be with family daily). He said he was back now and very busy. Asked for my patience. This custom will be my 3rd from Huawei. Sword quality has been excellent...blade and fittings. I have not had any Hanwei's so can not compare. But my two Huawei's are a grade above Longquan average. I am willing to be patient with jacky. For me, it is not like I have no other swords. I have found, in general, if I push someone into haste, the end product is less good. I think Josh's custom Huawei took 4 months. 10 months would concern me. Huawei has gotten a lot of good press and reviews here at SBG. It is my impression also that Huawei is pretty small. I suspect Huawei has gotten swamped with orders. Is trying to catch up on the backlog at this time. Your double 9260 order? Not sure what to advise. My current custom order is one from about late Nov 14. Sorry, RinC

SS, Glad you heard from Jacky. RinC p.s. Maybe he will do yours ahead of mine. He asked my last week for patience. I told him to take his time. And do not mind if others, especially someone like you, come first. FCFServe is fine with me. :-)

I wanted a semi custom from him pretty bad for a while, but he never really gets back to me. I know most people have good results, but it's just hard for me to keep trying to order a sword when replies are scarce.

Lightweight, zero niku trick cutter with a deep bo hi. Dh T10 or 1095.

That sounds very nice. I've seen hira zukuri with bo hi. Whether you find that possibility attractive is simply a matter of opinion but it would reduce the niku. I'm sure Huawei should be able to accommodate to your wishes.

I like what I think is called shobu zukuri. I was never much in to the hira or the unokubi styles.

I like what I think is called shobu zukuri. I was never much in to the hira or the unokubi styles. The iris leaf geometry I also find very attractive. So I got two from huawei custom 9260 (I regret not getting T10 or 1095 DH) blades in shobu zukuri. The shinogi line (forgive my lack ignorance of actual terminology) doesn't go to the "tip" of the kissaki as I imagined but still made for a sweet pair. I asked for 23" blades with the full length tsuka approx. 10.5 inch in full wrap same.

I had wanted it to make competing with the other guys in the Game of SWORD a little easier. They are too good. I need all the help I can get.

I've had them for maybe over a year and I'm ashamed of the bit of rust you see in the close up. Don't hate me.

I don't keep my user blades oiled or otherwise care for them. They have dings and scratches and mis-colored spots and rust and all that good stuff. My Dragonfly wak, on the other hand, stays in pristine condition since I plan on selling it.

It's in the Backyard Cutting section. It's like the basketball game horse, except with sword tricks.

I have some catching up to do it seems. I'm pretty new here. I foresee many hours watching trick cut vids in my near future.
