I have it in my collection but I don't know why. It seems to get a lot of bad reviews. Sorry for your loss of time.

If it's any consolation, the graphic novel is 1000 times better than the movie. I also have it in my collection, but rarely watch it

Yeah, the graphic novel IS quite good but the movie certainly isn't. I feel like the movie nailed the look and feel of the comic but COMPLETELY missed the heart and soul of the story. I really don't like Zack Snyder's films as a whole, I feel like they're always visual flash with no substance... (even when the source material had substance in abundance!)

The Watchmen mini-series/graphic novel is one of my favorite comic books of all time, one of my favorite books of all time. The movie did a VERY good job in looking like the comic... but it missed the 'essence' of it entirely. Watchmen was dirty, gritty, realistic... everything Zach Snyder does is over the top... he could not capture the grit and grime and realism of the comic. He made it to fantastical. It missed the mark.

The few choice moments of screen time with Rorschach were the only redeeming parts of the movie for me. Edit:It is a terrible film, but it does have one redeeming quality Ok, well that too...

I actually like it, too. Never read the comics though so that might be why.

I can see how it would be a lot easier to enjoy the movie if you were not a fan of the original material... you go into it with no pre-conceptions or expectations.

Actually agree with Talon on the eye candy aspect and Aikidoka2012 that the parts with the Rorschach character were the only redeeming parts, the rest of the characters I could not care less for.

It's the same with a lot of mainstream live action adaptations, like e.g. Solomon Kane (which has absolutely nothing to do with the source material, aside from the main character's name - and NAME ONLY - and technically being set in the same time period, but is a decent enough fantasy action flick if you don't care about any of that).
