Have to agree with swordboy on this one Ramm, I personally don't see the problem with swordboy's way of talking maybe because I am the same way. Some of us are confronted by situations we may otherwise wish we weren't but I don't actually think that swordboy is bragging I just think he is laying out the facts. Like he said, if you don't like what he says don't read it.

I think whatever is posted by whoever needs to be toned down or a moderator MIGHT intervene. So that means SOMEBODY might end up using their whoop@$$ stick on ALL OF US. Discretion is the better part of valor, people. Free speech does not apply when one is in another lion's den.

If it's free speech, I believe I've got the right to point out if I don't like your attitude.
That said, I think you're taking it far too personally. I'm just suggesting you be a bit warmer. I understand your background and hat makes you so "tough," I just don't see the need for you to flaunt it.

I think it needs clarification that when one goes to a website which is OWNED and CONTROLLED by SOMEBODY ELSE there is no free speech. One gives up those rights as the owner of the site can censor or edit any content on the site at will. They can tell one to toe the line or even BAN ANYBODY. Free speech is a privilege and not a right as far as the web is concerned. Privileges are earned and not given.

IMHO, two simple things all martial artists should try to avoid: posturing and scolding. Take it for what it's worth.
Clowning around is totally acceptable, as long as no weapons are involved. ;D
As far as the "thug" voting option is concerned, I just assumed it was a joke...

Swordboy - I don't think that anyone is reacting against you or calling you a liar; perhaps there is just some reaction to some perceived "flippancy" in how you present it? Knowing how to kill someone is some pretty heavy knowledge - I know, because I took a few years of intensive Jiu-Jitsu (not the tournament kind, but the self-defense kind). That knowledge is not a pleasant thing, and should be treated with care whatever our opinions of the morality of it are. Perhaps this is just some misinterpreting what you are saying, because it comes across as ambiguous. Make any sense? |

p.s. it would be a shame to kill a thread cause some dis-likes an opinion or dis-agrees wth some else
