Page buttons should follow the scrolling down, always at the top of the window. At least, mine do. Took some getting-used-to from the old bottom-right-corner to now look up-and-to-the-left, but they're there. Subscriptions, that's a question for somebody else. I never used that feature on the old forum, so I don't exactly miss it. I do think it's pretty neat that this one notifies you if, say, somebody quotes you in a given thread. Bookmarks is probably the closest to subscriptions this board can get, but I'll let somebody with more intimate knowledge correct me. Good call on the page buttons - must have missed that. Subscriptions and bookmarks are similar but subscriptions will update you when new posts are made in a thread/sub forum which is great when you want to keep track of a conversation or say be notified when any new classifieds ads are posted. Looks like the "notify when bookmarks are updated" option will serve the same purpose, but I had different threads subbed vs. just bookmarked so will have to figure out what's missing now to follow updates on.

But the most important question is : do the members without avatar know that they looks like the Coneheads? More like Ang from Avatar the series

Thankfully, the first thing I did was go into my profile to see how things were set; so I found the email thing that way.
It looks like this new version has a lot social networking features - or at least that potential. I understand that it is a popular format, especially with the younger crowd; but will there be a means to opt out of those things? On a related note, I saw that there is a notification option for when I am added to a group. (I know the groups don't exist, yet; but) Does that mean that other people will be able to add me to their groups without my permission?
There were other things I had in my first attempt at this post (which I gave up on after multiple attempts at posting - I have no idea what the issue was there, but it didn't work); but I don't remember what they were at the moment.
To be fair, I'll give this some time to settle, and get the bugs fixed.

Hmmm... this seems dangerous. Lots of potential for misuse. Imagine the anarchy! Bedlam!! Dogs and cats, living together! Mass hysteria!!!!

Seeing how few we are in numbers I don't think anonymous posting is a bad thing. Those that intend to post a bit will surely register an account. Guest posting might actually increase the chance of getting new members in the forum. It's always up to person himself to decide what information he trusts.
Trolling & advertising might pop up a bit but as this is so small forum I would think they'd try to focus on forums that reach more people?

The Mods can also ban anonymous posters on the spot by IP address if there are trolls and such.

As William said, should anybody ever misuse the anon system, it's simple enough to report the post and the mods will take it from there.
As has also been said, there are those who may not want to make a proper account, for whatever reason, but still wish to participate in discussion. I think the anon system is fine. Most discussion boards these days allow anon posting and suffer minimal drawback.

I remember the other thing, now - accessing Recent Posts is less than convenient, and the format makes it considerably more difficult to scan them quickly. I'm sure the new format has benefits to the site; but I doubt I'll use it again (which is significant because New Posts was the page I had bookmarked).

If I'm recalling correctly, the original SBG had anon posting.

The default needs to be set to private ASAP. I had a special email address set up for this forum. The reason I even knew to come here and re-register was because I was getting a lot of new spam on that unique email address due to it being harvested in the public view. New members should be set to private / old members should be reset to private. Ah ... so that explains all the new spam I've been getting!
And by now my email address - and the fact that it's linked to this forum - is now available for anyone to purchase, and could be on any db in the world.
Such a basic website protocol, and one that should be especially obvious in light of the revelations of the last few years ... and only pure chance that I happened to look at this thread.
Not a happy camper.

Agreed - the recent posts option is not so user friendly (I too had that as my bookmark for the site) but the recent active threads option is fairly easy on the eyes and serves pretty much the same function.

Hi all,
Good job with the new forum!
I just have an issue, I cant log in with my old account(tsen xian) because I change my email address...
So, I tried to create a new account(aragami) and I already receive a confirmation mail, but when I try to log in with this new account, it says that this account needs approval by the staff?
Can you please do something for me? Because I have a deal pending with a member and need to check my pm for payment informations.
Thank you in advance!

Still working through some of the issues raised, we are getting there but it is a bit slow.
Please bear with us!
Thanks.

Just recieved an email saying unfortunatley my acount was not approved. I think this was because I tried to get into the old pro board system when you had already moved on now it just processed the request and rejected it, I think. My current account is still active so no too worried about it ,or should I be?
