I just found a listing at KOA for several Valiant Armory 303 arming swords on the the new items page. They are listed as scratch and dent items at an unbelievable price of $119.95 and the defects seem to be with the scabbards, that all seem to have a problem with being bent and all pointing off towards jonses barn. If you will pardon the colloquialism. It seems like a deal to good to be true so I jumped on the one in oxblood. But they also list ones in blue. Sorry I didn't post a link. I still haven't figured out how to do that with my phone. But they were there as of Monday at 6pm mountain. Good luck. And since .Sonny has raised all his prices back up to pre sale norms. This would be a doubly good deal for the begginer with a small budget, able to buy a great sword at a crappy sword price. And as a side note the pictures of said scabbards shows only a small amount of bend in them, and the descripption states that that the sword will enter scabbard with no restrictions. They don't specify total quantity available so don't wait if your interested. As a side note i do not work for nor do I receive any compensation from KOA. I just mention this in case others innterested but unaware my get a good deal.

OK at least one of those has a slotted nut, not the hex nut like on my Castile. I read a review of the AT303 in the review index that indicated these may be First Generation 303 swords. can someone help me out and look over the pictures please?
That is still a good price but the review kind of pointed to the newer swords as a better deal.
Also the stats on the 303s at the Custom Sword Shoppe for this model match the stats to their 304s Long Sword so no help there.
Thank you all.

The scratch and dent ones are not the first gen. The first gen swords had the leather work done by the forge, were all black, and were heavier. Starting with the second gen swords, the leather work was done by Sonny in the states, that's when he started offering different colors.
Not sure where you're seeing the slotted nut in the scratch and dent pics? I looked at all three swords and there's no clear view of the nut, but the leather gives them away as second gen swords.

Thank you for that. It turns out that I was looking at the pictures with the original stats the link pointed to; DOH! Sorry about that. Of course, I am here to learn so I will make mistakes. Thanks Again Aaron!

I just ordered one of them. A royal blue arming sword, I'll be sure to let you guys know how -------- up it turns out (i.e. Tang breaks and sword flies, guard is bouncing around, pommel spins, blade has big crack etc) otherwise, I hope it's just a bit of rust and edge chipping on blade which I can easily fix.

Every now and then you find something that tickles your funny bone -
Blow Out Sword of Cortenuova not $119.95 but $119.95 Windlass Steelcrafts
"This Blow Out Windlass Sword of Cortenuova has a loose pommel. The grip has a spot of scuffing that has damaged the black finish of the leather. The leather scabbard has a large amount of scratches and scuffs in the finish. The pommel is slightly loose. The blade has been sharpened and is sharp."

The stated fault is thus.. "This Blow Out Valiant Armoury Atrim Custom Arming Sword has a warped scabbard. The scabbard is visibly bent in a direction, though it does not hinder the sheathing of the sword. Although the grip and scabbard may, at a glance, appear as black in the photographs, they are actually Royal Blue in color and the tone is lighter and more ''blue'' than the photos reflect." So you should not have the "helicopter of death" as a potential problem, VA's have a good reputation here on the board

Heh heh heh. I'm fairly confident there won't be a helicopter of death scenario as the base product is very well designed and built, but I've prepared for the worst! From the pictures, it looks pretty healthy as far as a good sword goes, should be exciting.

I just hope we actually get the swords we paid for. All three of them still show they're in stock. Sometimes they don't automatically update and you wind up getting an email saying sorry, that's not in stock

One for those who like to fix things up - seems a bargain at $59.95 kultofathena.com/product.asp?ite ... ourt+Sword This blow-out Valiant Arms Agincourt Sword has twisted blade that is mis-aligned to the hilt. It also has no scabbard. Click Here to Link to normal item for measurements and item description

As I posted in the first post of this listing which I made . I in fact payed for the oxblood collored one already, so now I guess it falls to KOA TO decide who in fact is actually the successful purchaser of the Oxblood sword. That of course will also depend on if someone else in fact has not already purchased it prior to my payment for it. And since they are all in fact still listed as in stock, I am certainly curious as to who in fact receives it. I have also in the past payed for a sword at KOA Then was notified the next day that it had in fact sold to someone prior to me, even though it was still listed as in stock and they took my payment for it. In that case I ended up purchasing another one they received of that sword. But in this case I guess they will let us know on Tuesday who lucked out and actually got it. Naturally I hope its me. But first come first served I hope. Glad to see that others have jumped on the good deal. So I hope my posting this helped others out.

Well my curiosity is surely spiked now. It would be fascinating although probably impossible to find out how many people actually end up paying for one of these swords. Especially given the Fact that it appears that there was only three to begin with. How many payments they receive compared to the actual number of swords available. And how long they will continue to show as in stock, even though it appears that at least three of us forum members have already payed for them. And then comes to mind how much interest is collected of of our payments before they are returned, to the buyers who ordered after they were in fact sold out. Can't wait to find out tomorrow. So lf anyone of you who's on this little journey with me would like to come back tomorrow and voice their results, such as payed but did not get one ore payed and did get one. I'm curious as to how this all turns out since it seems obvious to me that KOA does not moniter they're website sales over the weekends. So here's to the successful buyers an to those not so lucky. Talk to you all tomorrow with an update. Good luck

Anyone who's looking for a nice Type XV should pick up the Effigy Sword (coined Windlass Sword on the site) for $60. I have one and really like it, the pommel fix is easy too just give the peen a few moderate hits with a hammer and it's solid. Mine did came loose like that too and that's all I did to fix it. www.kultofathena.com/product.asp ... ass+Sword+

See, to me this isn't a good deal at all. Super cheap but the blade is flawed and the model is from before Sonny took over VA, from the time when the swords made using the VA name were supposedly really overbuilt.
