Finioshed the Hocho today after dicking around with some exotic woods that failed i went back to the good ole' tried and true burnt hickory. Im pleased with the results. shes so sharp she shaves hair. Grandmas gonna be a happy camper my next visit.

Your keyboard appears to support it's own living culture, time to spend the $10 for a new one  Nice knife by the way

Cling wrap when your working, remove when typing, it's easy if you have a roll close to the keyboard, you can type through at a pinch too

Saito, this is an awesome piece of work, very pretty. If I were to critique, just for eye-candy value, the handle seems a bit unfinished. Just from an eye candy aspect...not giving you a hard time here. My personal *FAVORITE* kitchen knife has a old nasty wood handle re riveted back on sometime in the early 1940's. Heck the wood is near black from age.... My thought just comes from looking at knife pics online and in stores. Good stuff, I really like this.

its hard to see all the detail in the pics, its made from hickory that i selectively burned with a blow torch to turn all the little cracks and valleys black, which i then sanded down prior to applying the clear coat. Its very generic and simple, but the reason is because i had experimented with some SPalted maple and ebony ext and kept having failures. the spalted maple grip with ebony cap snapped in 5 different places so i said ^%CK it and used good ole' hickory. after gramma uses it the first time aesthetics will be thrown out the window anyway and all ull see are meat stains allover the blade
