Hi guys, newbie here. Just wanted to consult our experts on some few swords that i recently collected. Yes, just recently when my interest was piqued after going to mindanao. Most of these i bought from a moro store in manila. I was told that most are antique/ vintage except probably some of the kris swords. If am not mistaken, you will see there kris, kampilan and pira and gunong. What am not sure is the samurai type sword there. Don't know what it is called. I would be glad to hear opinions if these swords are fake, replicas, etc....if this is a good buy, etc.... Thanks. Glad to join this forum. Ed

Hi there,
On if this is a good buy or not is entirely on how much you paid for them. Most of them seem like decent antiques although I cannot tell with the moro keris, which I suspect are new due to the pristine furniture and also how they all have identical grip/pommel combos. They also are a bit too short for antique blades from my experience.
Those two with the horn protrusions coming out from the grip are very rare to find intact as they do tend to snap off, could point to it being a new mount with an old blade.

Thanks William. Believe or not, most of them i bought between 60$ - 80$ though it is orginally offered to me at around 100$ Or more. Right now, i have asked my contact to find me another kampilan preferably those with ivory handle or a panabas with interesting islamic designs.

Lovely pieces! I don't think I have ever seen a moro keris with a hilt quite like that. The Dha looks 20th cent.

Addition to my collection. The biggest and longest kris sword i have encountered! Almost the size of 2 regular swords combined. On the left side is the biggest balisong knife from luzon, Philippines. Attachments:
