My two favourite designs out of those are the second one and the sword and I may eventually have to get them made if I can work out how to do the balancing and stuff. The internal lines on the drawings denote where they are sharpened.

Vy: Holes? What holes? You talking about the half moons?
I'd love to get it made but boy, how the heck would I get it made? I would think that the blade from point to point would be about a foot across and making it light enough to be viable, these are all difficulties that would make this blade hard to realize in steel.

Yeah? I see those crescent moons on all your designs. Next time I make you a sword I'll etch it on there next to FB. Like a joint creation - is that your mark?
I wonder if we could make it in two halves then set then into the shaft side by side? And maybe even clamp / weld the blades together somehow? just thoughts.

Crescent moons! Here's me thinking they were 2d representations of holes.
Following on from Brenno's line of thought... to get two blades together would it be plausible to heat and then twist the two tangs together and then hammer them flat?

Bren: The only thing I can think of would be make them in two halves and create a wedge collar for it and pin it in place with 4 pins or so. The half moon is just a good mark It represents my personality in a way. A join creation would be very cool maybe do the crescent with the FB inside of it, that would look hot! Maybe we should ask Dan or Sam, they would have a better idea. How much would this cost to get made Bren? Please PM me with the answer

We're talking about the third one down aren't we. I could make the two blade halves, and send them to you. You'd need someone to forge weld the two tangs - which I can't do, and then heat treat and temper them.

Bren: Yeah third one down, I wouldn't have access to anyone who can forge weld or heat treat and temper so that one is right out unfortunately, probably easier to just make swords or simple polearms mate. The second one would probably be very doable I would imagine, easy to shape, easy to heat treat and temper and easy to attach.

Well in the spirit of my madness I have drawn up three more designs, one of the I am going to get Bren to make for me at some point; The one on the left is a kristabre, a yatagan shape crossed with a kris blade for the last ten inches or so and the basket is just something I threw together. The second one is my idea of a perfect two handed sabre, fairly simple but elegant. The last is a monster the razor sabre, still a light bladed sabre but wicked and effective with a deep belly for effective cutting. My problem is they are all so amazing it is very hard to decide.

The left one isn't quite what jumped into my mind, I'll try to draw it for you. I love the basket on the right. It's hit me how I can make it too. No worries. The blade of fire is kind of like when you quench and all this flame takes off.
I'm also really liking the middle one and have plans for that already too. I busted my finger but am getting keen to get back out into the shop.

The left one looks a bit dodge to me as well, I can imagine the middle one as an ATrim or something, told you it was a perfect two handed sabre. It would be a short blade though, a blade anywhere over about 3" is too big in my opinion, the length as silver says should come from the size of the grip, the blade should always be the length you are comfortable with.

Like most katanas, have the 29" blade. Then the hilt can be anything from 12 - 15". I have one with a 15" hilt, and it's not bad actually. Not a problem at all. I like its majorly flared base.

hey guys, I've been staring at the U shaped polearm I did and it just wasn't right so I redid it in paint; the blades themselves at their widest point would be 3 inches. opinions appreciated

Hey guys, after all the talk about madmartigan's sword from the movie willow I went and designed a mockup of it and am now considering getting it made because it is just such a lovely sword. The pommel is a ball not a disc but I couldn't work out a good way to represent that. Without further ado;

Yeah, I watched the movie but the sword in the photos looks much like the one that did as a mock up in paint. It is an awesome looking sword.

Hey guys, Here are some designs I've been working on with the intention of possibly getting them custom made by Richard Von Dijk; I'm just waiting for a quote at the moment to see whether it is viable.
