A PEPPER SPRAY GUN! I need one now... Yeah. I really like it. Only has two shots of course... but it will work for me. For now. I carry this one because it isn't aerosol powered. So it is supposed to be more reliable. I've been looking at some Fox Labs pepper spray though. The USA police use it, so it's got a really good rep. And it's got more shots than the Kimber pepper spray gun. Only problem is Fox Labs is aerosol powered. So I got a dilemma. But if you really want the end all be all pepper spray gun... www.thepeppergun.com/jpx-4-shot-cobra-defender-pepper-gun/

Stockman slip joint. A timeless classic, and three different blades in a small package. I have many different slip joints...perhaps a subject of a separate post.

I recently added a cold steel 6" ti-lite to my EDC. Man I love this thing. It has no real use outside of a weapon but man do I feel armed with it. I actually feel like I got a perfectly dependable weapon when I carry it. It's light too

The CS XL Vaquero (5 1/2") fully serrated...purely defensive SLASHER, CS XL Voyager clip point half serrated (paid $35 each from knifecenter...Aus8 steel, they may still be around). My third I got just before company Camillus, changed, and that is the clip point Cudda Maxx 5 1/2" blade with D2 steel and titanium liners ($99 from Matthews Cutlery). Kind of a collectible, today. The CS Voyager clip point is a very useful folding camp knife with lots of power for its weight.

Ended up settling on the ti-lite. Holy semprini I love this knife. I got the one with zytel scales but kinda wish I added more money to get the aluminum. Those are probably more sturdy

Pretty light for their size and with the Triad lock. That Vaquero with the fully serrated recurved blade can slash like a beast yet still stab.

Hell, I'm pretty sure this thing would puncture skin better than a needle. Sharpest knife I've ever owned as well. Makes me sad when I hear people from the US saying "decent knife for 40$". I paid 97$ in Canada 😂 If I were American I would have both the voyager AND the ti-lite

Or, spend the money on knives they are more interested in. I don't see anything inherently "wrong" with those two choices but the ti-lite especially looks like a single purpose blade that wouldn't replace knives I already own. A large Fox or Falcon stiletto with stag about the same price point, just as fast to open once broken in and quite a bit stronger overall, and not third world production. For a knife as a weapon I prefer wider dagger blades and medium overall fixed blades. Does your kerambit fall into the ring knife category?
All of the Boker Plus knives are Chinese made so ya, cheaper. What is the steel?

Which one? The JPX or the Kimber?

Haven't found a lock as strong as the Tri-Ad yet. And their Natchez bowie is THE Bowie.

Fixed blades are the way to go for a self defense knife. I love my folders, but the truth is that fixed blades are %100 better than folders for a self defense knife.

Yup, fixed are the way to go, but (there is always a butt sticking out somewhere ) folders can be very compact and convenient. No sheath, no making the sheeple go to the bathroom in their drawers, and can imagine a swiss army fixed multiple blade knife (that would be truly WILD with half a dozen or so fixed blade tools). The handle design on those XL Voyagers give you a huge reach, but I will say that the smaller pocket folders make more sense than the XL stuff (which is why there aren't a lot of folders with blades over 4").

I keep wondering why someone would name a pickup truck after a sheep.

What is the steel? 440C, and they use Aus8 on other designs (don't quote me, i'm venturing a guess that the "plus" part of Boker Plus indicates increased quality). It is all with quality control of the company overseeing the Chinese plant. If you get a good deal, and make sure you get a proper model from a proper company, you can get a pretty fair ChiCom product. If you buy a no name, cheap, non researched product... . Now, all of this didn't stop me from having a Spyderco Endura, Delica, Benchmade Griptillian, etc...

I keep wondering why someone would name a pickup truck after a sheep. When those male sheep whack their heads together...BOOM...people watching say "give me an aspirin" and then say "that was impressive". Say Blue, does this selective mating behavior seem like a rebuttal to the theory of natural selection? I mean, You want to pass on your genes and all, but at the cost of a thicker skull and precious brain jostling (I'd rather have a ham sandwich and watch the game on TV than mate with even the most beautiful sheep...wait...that didn't come out right...YIKES)? If humanity blows itself up, I doubt the next intelligent species will come from the "Bighorn" line...know what I mean.
