It's definitely the most pointy blade in my collection. Quote close to a needle. Hell, I'm pretty sure this thing would puncture skin better than a needle. Sharpest knife I've ever owned as well. Makes me sad when I hear people from the US saying "decent knife for 40$". I paid 97$ in Canada đ If I were American I would have both the voyager AND the ti-lite Got to love Cold Steels folders! Haven't found a lock as strong as the Tri-Ad yet. And their Natchez bowie is THE Bowie. Got the San Mai model of Natchez, myself. Wonder when they will make an S3V steel model?

I keep wondering why someone would name a pickup truck after a sheep. Because it worked with "Guts" and "Glory" like a charm. And worked perfect with this :

I keep wondering why someone would name a pickup truck after a sheep. When those male sheep whack their heads together...BOOM...people watching say "give me an aspirin" and then say "that was impressive". Say Blue, does this selective mating behavior seem like a rebuttal to the theory of natural selection? I mean, You want to pass on your genes and all, but at the cost of a thicker skull and precious brain jostling (I'd rather have a ham sandwich and watch the game on TV than mate with even the most beautiful sheep...wait...that didn't come out right...YIKES)? If humanity blows itself up, I doubt the next intelligent species will come from the "Bighorn" line...know what I mean. Not too much fan of football, right?

I like NFL (Seahawks) and LOVE college football. I'm in the pacific NW, Seattle area, and a WSU alum (go Cougs), but the UW Huskies are #4 (and I hope they lose to #1 Alabama because they are our bigger rival). I blame the sheep for "knocking" us off the EDC subject, but (for me, anyway) it is fun to meander.

What EDC a star football player could have on him? Did they have one? Is EDC a mark of the "working class"? If so, why some EDC have those prices? Acquiring those EDC makes you feel better about yourself? Thousands other questions - much better than normal one "what's your ..." But all these just to not mingle with the sheep on a knife topic

Fixed blades are the way to go for a self defense knife. I love my folders, but the truth is that fixed blades are %100 better than folders for a self defense knife. Heh...self-defense, yeah! If i would defend myself with a knife here in our beloved Germany, no matter how many attackers there would possibly be: if i wound or KILL someone of the attackers i would go to jail FOR GOOD! And NO lawyer could defend me here; no chance!

Or, spend the money on knives they are more interested in. I don't see anything inherently "wrong" with those two choices but the ti-lite especially looks like a single purpose blade that wouldn't replace knives I already own. A large Fox or Falcon stiletto with stag about the same price point, just as fast to open once broken in and quite a bit stronger overall, and not third world production. For a knife as a weapon I prefer wider dagger blades and medium overall fixed blades. Does your kerambit fall into the ring knife category? All of the Boker Plus knives are Chinese made so ya, cheaper. What is the steel? 440C, and they use Aus8 on other designs (don't quote me, i'm venturing a guess that the "plus" part of Boker Plus indicates increased quality). It is all with quality control of the company overseeing the Chinese plant. If you get a good deal, and make sure you get a proper model from a proper company, you can get a pretty fair ChiCom product. If you buy a no name, cheap, non researched product... . Now, all of this didn't stop me from having a Spyderco Endura, Delica, Benchmade Griptillian, etc... 440c can certainly be a good enough steel, as is aus8. It really depends on the heat treat. Certainly all the collaborative offerings give the regular guy a chance to have a designer blade.

Star NFL football players can have the most expensive, exotic stuff on the planet and not bat an eye, but even then, would/could have a bunch of practical user blades. The real question is: What would a sheep EDC...a pair of sheers perhaps (in warm weather)?

I'm still most often found just pocketing an SAK alox handled soldier model. Almost lost it down in the basement today, reminding me why I often have another knife handy. Seeing as several toolboxes were also at hand, not to worry. I am not too fond of the way the CS Voyagers look, as they might somewhat expect me to conform to their grip, rather than the other way around. My one large folder aside from a super size stiletto in a 5" closed with a clip point blade. I sent my Buck 110 off to war with a great nephew but he seemed more impressed with the little Swisstool keychain item I also gifted him. My days of wanting or "needing" to carry a defensive blade is pretty much a thing in the past but had liked a number of medium sized fixed blades, as well as the aforementioned ti bodied folding bowie. A frame lock from before they were called tactical, this Gilbreath folder (#9) shown below with some bowies and others kind of shows its size. The daggers on the left are 8" blades.

Some of my flotsam and jetsam in this picture. The larger of the stilettos below, an Italian Falcon brand. The smaller vintage German made with a four inch blade. The silver alloy Argentina knives come in all sizes. I particularly like the Al Mar Eagle (talon blade) and a knife I had carried in the past and actually until fairly recently as a larger utility knife. Another shot of the titanium Gilbreath folder closed, with a Vince Evans folder and Puma 941 next to some larger fixed blade. The subhilt Blackjack 1-7 I sold that day. A Randall 2-8. Kevin Cashen bowie, Vince Evans bowie and Ralph Bone bowie. Those three in stag as well. I had posted up a number of slip joints in the past. Really too much more to list as having been carried daily. I had a love hate relationship with a Kershaw Whirlwind and of course missed it after selling it. When I had first bought it, I found really wanted the Random Task instead. Working knives for me were typically less than 4" blades and some quite short. One skinner/caper I had used in warehouses for years had just a 1" blade. A friend had ground that and I mounted it in a heavy carpenter's knife handle.

Here's my EDC, a manly weapon! You are all sheeple unless you carry fully automatic and highly illegal firearms of a caliber larger than .45! It's a great little thing, small enough to conceal even when I've got a bullet-proof vest on! I can carry it into any bank I rob!

Descent, and a good combination with a 5 ft. dane axe as an EDC!

Can't really say what NFL players do or don't carry, only that I wish I was in their economic predicament (and that I would have more quality steel than GOD if I was).

Funny how they sneak up on you...like sharp, pointy dust bunnies. You got the "itch", but then SO many, like myself, do on this forum, and (thankfully) there is no cure. Need turns to WANT (or is that the other way around) real fast. Good clean harmless fun, and a bargain vs. a drinking habit, at least that's what I tell myself.
