How to say this..... purely personal experience. DSA does indeed make pretty decent swords. I have several. ALL have been rebuilt. My humble opinion - every COMPONENT is good, but factory ASSEMBLY is dead rotten. So? I always look at DSA offerings as "kit swords". They can become VERY good, but generally require a total rebuild to hit that mark. For ME? That includes the scabbard... generally a bit too loose, generally sized in a generic fashion to fit multiple offerings. I have a semi-custom sword--Del Tin blade with a Jeffery Robinson hilt. The DSA scabbard fits that sword better than it does the Excalibur that it came with.

nice blade, but i often wonder why they made the Excalibur sword look like this, i would think it would be more of a roman gladius style sword since the time of the legend was around roman rule , just a thought

But I hear what you Are saying.... i think Windlass put out their interpretation of a "historic" Arthur sword a few years ago.

Also, Merlin could see the future, so an advanced, futuristic and magical sword should look a bit more contemporary and stand out. Seriously though, the Darksword and Legacy Arms are both based on the 1981 Boorman Excalibur movie. The neater part is the interesting story of how the movie sword looks exactly like the lost Discerner sword from Clan Lindsay. It is a mystery of how/why the sword matches the Discerner sword, because the only picture of Discerner was a painting in a private collection. Discerner Story - clickHere's my Darksword Armory Excalibur. It is precious to me. This picture was taken in the King Arthur Room at Ravenwood Castle...
