Cen: I wasn't having a go at your lineage, more speaking to how much more dangerous america is for things like homw invasions than most other 1st and 2nd world countries. Crickey ... I was just making a good humored joke ... poop .. next time I'll use more smileys ;D No worries. It's all good. Here in the south, swordboy said it best. If you're not a guest you're a target. When someone says get off their property you better treat it seriously or they can legally turn you into swiss cheese. EDIT: Just read the rest of the thread ... What you think you will do and what you will do are two completely different things unless you train to react without thinking. I know practically what I would do in situations because I have been in them, I think the majority of you would be p****ing yourselves in terror hoping the guy went away. Why would the majority of people do this when they are most likely better armed? Do you always assume that the target audience is half full of cowards? Little harsh don't you think? Who says that we haven't been trained to kill or haven't been where TSHTF ?? First, why wouldn't we want to kill the scum that tries to steal pieces of our lives? They are evil mf'ers for committing the crimes they do ... waste them. Why should you feel bad for killing evil people? BTW I'm also an extreme proponent of the death penalty for criminals as well. Citizens shooting criminals in the progress of committing their crimes just saved the government about a million+ dollars in legal, prison and execution costs. Second, there are light switches in the house. Use them. Most houses also have flashlights. Lastly, live opponents have a tendency to try and sue. Dead ones never oppose your story. Hitting them with a club is rarely fatal enough.

I grow up in the ghetto geting shot at is just part of life I gave up fearing death a long time ago death is just a consequence of birth ...... if I die protecting my family than I did my duty as a father and husband and can die with honor ....... how do you think I got the name "swordboy" I didn't give it to my self ....... I've starred down a mugger with a 32 and made him bite off part of his tonge with the butt of my katana ........ in short I know how I will react ...... calmly with diliberate intent I did all my fearing and crying when I was a child ........ now I have some thing more than my self to fight for I will atack with no regaurd for pain or my own survival .......... I only will kill someone if it was an act of 100% self defense. To me, killing is evil.

I'm off the exact same mine gunit. Unortunately, this argument won't get anywhere. I've had it in the past on this forum. You and I can take the high road, but it's best to avoid these arguments and hope that people learn better.
Damn straight, and proud of it!

Most would agree, I'd think.
Can we drop this? I REALLY don't want another debate on something which neither of us will convince the other about. Have fun believing whatever as long as it isn'tforced on me. That's all I ask.

Ah, but that's the nice thing about living where I do (Michigan), as well as Florida and several other states that have "castle doctrine" laws: if'n yer a crook, ya takes yer chances! Just a couple years ago, Michigan passed its "castle doctrine" law, which basically says that (a) A person is under no legal or civil obligation to retreat if he or she is attacked - not just at home, but ANY PLACE THAT PERSON HAS ANY BUSINESS BEING - and (b), criminals (or their families) MAY NOT SUE THEIR WOULD-BE VICTIMS if said victims break out the whoop-a** and kill or injure the crooks. Who says politicians are all useless, if they can pass a wonderful law like that?

I sleep with my masahiro katana on a shelf next to my bed with my handle facing me. I had some reasons to though.

If Someone isn't interested in reading what other people have to say on a thread, don't read the damn thread. Some of us have obviously been in the military... some of us have been deployed to Afghanistan, and Iraq (several times). Some of us have killed and maybe enjoyed it a bit. Either way, some of us have done our duty to our country and would gladly do our duty to our families. Only a coward would even admit a willingness to hide under his bed while peeing his pants... and would probably do so while some family member was being raped and or murdered on the floor an arms length away. No one should ever have any respect for such a person... including the coward.
I've slept with a sword or knife by my bed/under my pillow for 15 years. Of course in the desert it was an M16 A-2 or an M4 alongside Mr. thirsty. <--- name of my personal camillus, left a piece of the tip in a rib.

You enjoyed it? You have my sympathy, I'd suggest checking into a mental ward. That's not normal.

If someone attemps to harm me or another then said person forfiets their own personal safety. Too bad we dont have that law here

I thought this was a friendly forum ..... Sometimes it is hard to be friendly when there is a strong disagreement. But in most cases it is just that... A strong disagreement!

I apologize to "Most" of you if I came across as rude... I know I haven't posted on this forum much, but I have been reading the threads. I suppose some of my irritation comes across due to my easily being irritated by people who always think they know something about everything and always have to have something to say... even when it's obvious that they just like hearing their own voice / reading their own text. I have been in a mental hospital for ptsd... I lost alot of friends protecting the rights of my country's citizens. So enjoying a little pay back is human nature... unless you are a coward, openly or not.... they had good grape juice. The basic point was if someone breaks into my home, ( and it's happened before ) They better be faster than I am and know the layout of my home... if not, I guess I'll sleep comfortable knowing that my wife is at least alive to complain about the blood on the floor and the late night with the police. That guy lived so no crying on your keyboard whiny smurf. Once again, my apologies and please don't think this is indicative of my normal internet etiquette.... alcohol was involved.
