Not sure if his has been done before but what is your favorite fantasy sword ? I just finished watching the hobbit for the 3rd time with my son and I've got to say I really like the movies version of orcrist,it just looks like it would cut like no mans business. I also quite like the short diamond tipped sword thorin oakenshield wields in some scenes before he gets orcrist. In fact I like orcristthat much I may have to save for the next few years to buy it ! :-)

This is tough since there are alot of fantasy swords I like from different stories and films. Lord of the rings has some really good designs, the orcrist and the witch king sword are my two faves. Though this would have to be my all time fave. one not many people know of though since it's from an eastern fantasy story.

Its a very nice sword, but not very fantasy other than the blade shape.
I like this version better than the movie one for sure.

I 'll go for Conan's sword and Glamdring as depicted in the films.
The first for lurking in my childish dreams and luring me into the sword world and the second for been a pure beauty...

My favorite is the Christian Fletcher/Angus Trim Borderwatch sword. The Albion Crecy blade looks great with the Borderwatch hilt.

You've got the sickness, I think... If I dropped that kind of $$ on a custom sword, I wouldn't giggle with glee about having sent it someplace else to get it the way I want it. I hope it isn't contagious <steps back, cautiously>

OHHHHH, but it IS contagious!! And for the record, The sword came from Brenno exactly as i wanted it,......THEN. This is where the sickness really comes in. I sent it to ernie, to make a grip for "MarrowThorn" it's companion dagger, as well as to have scabbards for both made from solid Ebony. This is just the continuation of a project, that will probably NEVER be complete. I originally planned on doing the scabbards myself, but withe the expense and rarity of ebony sized as needed, i figured Ernie was my best shot at doing it right the first time.

I haven't yet run across anything that satisfies my mental picture of his blades, so i checked the cover you mention, and for me their too much like the windlass versions. The windlass raptor is as close as i've seen to make me think of Drizzt, but the pommel and guard are "off". The Windlass Twinkle and Icingdeath have bugged me since i first saw them. It's almost like they seem too chincy for such a dark and badass character. For whatever reason the LOTR movie version of orcrist is closer to my mental image, but still not dark or slender enough. On that note, I have to add Orcrist as a favorite for sure, as well as Never Grow Up, and Edward's Sword from the Narnia Chronicles
