Check out Fable blades... Brenno has made quite a few Ranger swords over the years.

Generation 2/Legacy arms (now owned by CAS/Hanwei) also makes a 'Ranger' Sword... www.kultofathena.com/product.asp ... ttle+Sword I personally dig the BoarderWatch... which is why I have one on order. I also have an example of the DSA one here that as soon as I can figure out how to sharpen it I'll review it.

As much as I like the Albion/Christian Fletcher version, I have to say that Fable makes the best one by far. If I had to do it over again (And I hope I'm able to do just that very soon) I'd go with a Fable Blade.

If you want to go the semi custom route Kult of Athena have some blades that would not need a lot of re-work - Blow Out Cold Steel Italian Long Sword The hilt is loose, due to the epoxy used during construction, fixing this problem is difficult. Scabbard included. 4 Available www.kultofathena.com/blowout.aspWhoever repriced these needs a lesson in common sense - $234.95 Do they still have a 5c coin ? what can you buy with 5c ?

"Ranger" swords from LOTR are two handers - you can see the SBG store one here -

Darksword Ranger weight 5 lbs (6 lbs on SBG store)? I guess if it is a display sword; it is fine. Saito's suggestion is a really good one. I would go with a Hanwei Tinker longsword or bastard tho. Lonely Wolf Forge: Why did you choose the Hanwei Tinker great sword instead of Hanwei Tinker longsword to be converted?

from my understanding of reviews despite its weight it is quite maneuverable due to its POB being a lil over 3 inches
well IMO the Long Sword and the regular Bastard sword just do not look the part of a Lord of the rings swords ie most of them having wider blades.. the ones that look thje best out of the bunch are the Bastard with fuller and the Greatsword. tbh i would love to find a blade verry close to the one DSA used in there ranger sword but i am just not finding out right now i think for a build i might end up getting a tinker Greatsword and giving it a better point

Speaking of Yeshua's Swords, his standard Type XVIIIa Longsword is very "ranger" in looks: www.yeshuas-sword.com/type_xviii ... sword.html Personally I would say that is your best happy medium choice in terms of quality and price. It may not have that fancy Albion blade or Christian's leatherwork like the Borderwatch, but Ernie's hilt and grip work make up for it in my opinion.

And for a little extra they will - "For an additional up charge of $150 we can regrind (shown) the H/T blade to remove the natural forge wave if you prefer that look. (The Regrind Option removes all natural forge wave from blade, straightens up the edges, ribs and fullers, it is then given a fine satin finish)." This lightens the blade a little and gives you a lovely finish

The Hanwei Tinker longsword is already very nimble. To make it looks more like the Ranger, you can request green color wood. Check out the the Odin saber the middle of this page: www.yeshuas-sword.com/sword_scabbards.html

i chose the great sword because i owned the longsword and IMHO while its a very great dueling style thrusting sword. its complete garbage for cutting. Might have been because of the piss poor edge, but it couldnt even cut regular bottles. The great sword of war is alot more robust, a dedicated cutter and if i were a ranger id feel alot safer taking it into battle. Plus it looks amazing with the guard and pommel i designed. Now if i wanted a civillian dueling sword, the Longsword would be my first choice.
