Hey guys, anybody knows if there's a functional replica of dante's rebellion sword from the DMC games?

WOOHOO!!! I love the Devil May Cry series. But I have not seen a functional Rebellion sword. I have seen a SLO on trueswords, but that is it. I personally want to see a functional version of Vergil's Yamato.

Isn't the yamato basically just a katana with different tsukamaki?

Isn't the yamato basically just a katana with different tsukamaki? It is an o-katana with a weird bo-hi and tsuka-maki. BTW Have you played DMC 4 yet?

Basically yes...but a functional yamato would be a functional sword while a functional rebellion would be wall hanger still like the atlantian from albion. There just isn't a point really. It's like making a functional buster sword. There isn't a reason too because you can't actually use one as a weapon anyways.

Why not (if that's a dumb question, excuse me. Most people say that I seriously lack the logic of normal human beings )?

Why not (if that's a dumb question, excuse me. Most people say that I seriously lack the logic of normal human beings )? Probably because the sword would be far too heavy to wield.

The handle would have to be cast metal...i.e. too much weight. Then there is the blade size and shape which makes it once again too heavy and tip heavy with a thrusting point that can't be used...

No not even the wall hanger weights that much. Your looking at around 7-8 lbs for a one handed sword here.

Well, if that's the case i think it's kinda mid-weight. I've handled a 2.5 meter long wooden sword with same blade geometry, and that wasn't that terrible.

Umm your kidding right? A 8 lb one handed sword that's gonna have a PoB out at 8 inches or so is gonna rip your arms out of your sockets. I don't think exactly how bad that tip is gonna make the PoB on this sword and what it means for making a usable sword out of this design. The atlantean weighted less had a better PoB was two handed and it STILL wasn't a usable weapon.

The rebellion looks more like a hand and a half-two handed sword...it's not a single by any way. And no, i'm not kidding.. i have handled sword with really bad balance quite easy, but maybe it's just my elbows that are strong n' stuff:P

It would be from blade and hilt size...but the shape of the handle and the hilt forces one to hold the sword lower on the handle which negates ability for two handed use pretty much.

If you have a strong grip, you can use the sword in a double handed way. In my opinion there's enough room for even 2.5 hands, but when they're being held close, not far away like the katana style hold.

I held the wall hanger...no you really can't hold it two handed. See those sharp point bits hanging down to the handle from the hilt? If your hand is too close to hilt when you swing that sword, those sharp point jut into your wrist and it hurts enough that you could drop the sword mid swing and kill somebody. Leave a wall hanger where it should be...on the wall to be looked upon fondly. There is nothing wrong with that.

Well, that's why it's a wallhanger. The anime and game version have a longer hilt.

The anime version does...the game does not from what I can tell. It's kinda hard to see. But the anime version also has longer points hanging down the handle which means you have to hold it down even more which makes the sword even MORE unwieldy and you would still have trouble holding it with two hands. I live with a DMC fanatic. There really isn't a viable way to make that sword design into a useable functional sword. It's like the buster sword. No matter what, you just can't make that into a non wall hanger.
