The Sword of Mandorallen from The Belgariad Books It's got a 6 foot blade... scarrry heavy though Yeah but you would need the orb to make it lighter ;D Or was that Riva's sword? man it has been so long since I read those books... yeah it was Riva's sword that had the orb on the end of it. sorry

Um the sword of the Rivan King had the Orb. Mandorallen was just awesome in all respects, viva la Mandorallen!

I really should get Oblivion for PC and download some mods for it, that Hadhafang-ish blade looks awesome.

Until they find Zar'roc, or Brom's original sword. I have the Master Cutlery (licensed) version of Brom's sword. Of them all, I think it the nicest (and most realistic looking). Also got the scabbard and suspension belt rig to go with it. LOL @ Daedric claymore Forgot about those...

I wasn't talking about Brom's movie sword, I was talking about his dragonrider sword, which is not in the movies. I forgot the name because it has been a while since I read the books. It is a shame that all of the movie replicas are crappy wallhangers, even though they sure look nice. Never underestimate the power of a daedric claymore.

The Black Hands Dagger form Morrowind would be cool to have. That thing was so strong it was silly.

Jon, I thought that was his Dragonrider sword; how did you know it was not? Been a while since I last read those books...waiting on my kid to loan me her copy of Brisingr.

ha i eat daedras for breakfast I don't know what that's from, but the sword design is practically an exact copy of Arwen's sword, just stretched a bit.

johnerickson, that's from the game Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, a video game. The character appears to be wearin a form of the Assassin's shadow armor, with a daedric katana. Probably a mod pack installed enabled the user to create a sword that looks a lot like Hadhafang. Which, by the way, was a creation explicitly for the LoTR movies; it has no lineage in the Tolkien books as it didn't exist.

In the movies he does not mention that his sword was used as a dragon rider's sword. In the books all of the dragon riders had swords the same color as their dragon, and since I believe that Brom's dragon was blue, his sword was also blue. In Brisingr it mentions that he lost his sword long before the first book, so the one from the movie can't be his rider sword. Then again, I thought that the movie sucked a lot because it was nothing like the book at all.

I remember reading that Brom lost his dragonrider sword before Eragon (book) as well. I was actually was hoping that Eragon would find it in Brinsingr. Back to the topic tho, I'd like to have Gatts' Dragon Slayer from the Berserk manga series. a lil statue figurine of said character and sword, for a general size reference: www.berserkstatues.com/statues/gutsebf.htmlperfect for all your monster slaying needs. (EDIT - PIC ADDED)

Oh lord, not that sword again. There is a picture of one in one of the two LOTR threads in the fantasy section. Don't ask how or why.

Just pointing out that the designs are almost identical. If it's a mod pack and a user created sword, that's cool, but otherwise it's a stolen design.

It IS a mod pack...you won't find a weapon looking like that from the game's original weapon archives; there are katana to be sure, but none that look so close to Hadhafang like that one picture posted.

I always did love getting that free Akaviri katana (I know I spelled it wrong, but it has been months since I played) when I first started.

Actually, I think you spelled it right, but it's been a couple months since I've played it as well.
I've always thought that some sort of side-sword with a fancy silver inlay pattern down the blade would be cool. You know, just in case you run into a vampire in a dark alley.

Not all Vampire myths regard silver as toxic to Vampires, but just about every warewolf myth I have seen does. As to the Berserk sword, I still have no idea why anyone would want that thing. There is not one person in the world strong enough to use it effectively. Its a ridiculous silly giant hunk of steel. Bleh.
