Looks pretty cool, if only for the novelty.

As Kriegschwert and I share knowing winks, I slowly draw my neutering tools... Lets just say I eat buster swords for lunch ;D

Skalman, please - stop...! lol. Ronin is right, those swords are 'very silly indeed'... But a lot of young folk seem to like 'em, and who knows where that first sword might lead them to... One more thing. As much as I think that the Buster Sword is a bit of a travesty, after watching the manga series 'Berserk' I started to look at it in a different light. And for the sake of experiment, I got myself one of those 'full tang' Buster Swords just for fun... (Rammstein - STOP looking at me like that! I can feel it as I am typing!!) Anyway, long story short - this 'sword' is obviously too heavy to weild in any meaningful way - though is perhaps a training tool of sorts... And it is actually fairly solidly built. So much so that, figuring with that much steel in its construction it was unlikely to shatter like your typical SLO, I decided to let it have a go at the trusty old woodblock - and it took me the better part of half an hour to get the darned thing out! (Definietly a 'one hit wonder' so to speak). I am planning to write up a review on this in a seperate section about 'anime swords' on SBG to keep it away from the real stuff. But it is a fun looking display piece, and reasonably well made for the money... As to the original one shown in this thread - I'd call it the 'busted sword' or 'the rattler of doom'..

I agree Paul. Many sword enthusiasts get into sword because of interest in Movies like Lord of the Rings, Braveheart, Conan, or Highlander. Or Manga cartoons, or with me it was He-Man at 6 years of age. I would think that a section catering for such fantasy SLOs with comparisons and contrasts to real swords, or historical figures, may help bridge the gap for a dabbling enthusiast to help bring them into the fold of real sword enthusiasts. I know we have a fantasy section, but I wonder how we can use these to help bring over the thousands of wallhanger enthusiasts to real sword enthusiasts. Should I put that in the suggestions box or is that what you are thinking already? Brendan

yea, sorry bout those links, stainless steel nightmare i know, but i agree with you paul, the most common way to get interested in swords is exactly that, wallhangers, people buy them cause they saw a cool movie with swords, and now they want swords too well anyway, paul, think you could post any more rewiew/cutting vids on youtube? was a long time sinde your last vid, i want to see more, MORE! cutting vids are always fun

Kelvar groin protection is now donned - over the top of a typical sports protective box/codpiece just to cover all the bases... Sometimes you just have to put yourself out there and take on for the team... (OW!)

if that is up with Cloud's Buster(d) sword, I would love to imagine what would be with Rurouni Kenshin's character Sagara Sanosuke's zanbato sword, which is like 3 buster swords lined one on top of the other.........and he wields it with all the ease of the world............those manga writers and anime animators fueling swashbuckling wild fantasies!!!!!!!!!

WOWWWWWWWW.... functionally or not .. woowwww. -- .. there are many swords in the market these days that sells swords in this form like a big square .. I was in the temptation several days ago and I was in a critical buy situation about the Advent Children sword .. yeah!... am guilty .. I had those thoughts-- ...hmm .....well here is my situation ...am not a manga fan .. but I saw the movie .. i liked .. I started to search the history, the swords , weapons in general in the manga world .. and well .. in some kind I was interested in this sword--- .. And there is another sword that keeps me awake at night .. !!! .. the Siegfried sword .. the called Requiem sword .. it's from the Soul CAlibur III game .. pretty much similar to the before post linked image . Now check the Siegfried sword -- it supposed in the game that he is a Landsknecht .. www.angelfire.com/stars3/dragonsworld/shrine/sc3pics.htmlWell guys!! .. that's my new point of view of some manga swords.... and yeah I felt weird writing this ,, hahaha
