If somebody is going to start a thread on fantasy swords from whatever anime'/manga/etc..., why not find ones which are functional to some extent? There are so many of the Japanese style swords for anime' characters alone, are any of the ones coming out even functionable? Considering their high price points for some of them, there has got to be one that can actually cut something? Not even one?

One could walk around with something like that all day and almost no one would even recognize it as a weapon!

Paul I didn't know u have read Berserk! , Berserk is the best thing I've read/watched/looked at and I would chop my pinky toe for a functional Dragonslayer. Oh and I love big swords I don't care if they aren't practical .

Honestly if it wasn't such a ridiculous price, I'd consider picking it up. I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy 7, I consider it the best FF game to date story-wise. Plus, for its time, it had the most stellar graphics of any game. However, 700 bucks for a 440 walhanger that I'd half expect to fall into 6 heavy and at least semi-sharp pieces if I even look at it funny,? That's a negative Ghost Rider......

I don't think it'd be that expensive to get it made by someone. Doesn't look like something that hard to make ( as long as we're talking about the one from akuzokuzan's link ). What can i say for sure is that it'd be damn tip heavy and pretty much useless. In other words, something nice to hang on the wall. Would be a pain to cut anything with it, better, imagine missing the target, you'd start doing circles around. Well, maybe it'd be ok for chopping wood ( still worse than doing it the normal way, but at least better than normal cutting:p ).

Kleveland

Apparently they're made of wood, not stainless steel. That would definitely make them lighter... If they decide to use a reasonably light weight wood. Also, i wonder how the main blade holds up with all those cut outs. It looks almost dangerously thin in some areas.
