Guess I will have to put that at the end of my looong list of to-do's. Somewhere just after finding the drain plug for my tatami soaking trough. DAMMIT!!!

From all the ZT I have seen they all came with a edge like what Hhmoore as described. I have some cutting vids that I made for reviews. Two are for my D'Capitan and the other one is for Pogo's Bone Machete. Both swords had the standard edge.
Here is Sean cutting with my D'Cap after I cleaned up the edge.

It seems they have a new blade in their program: The Xiphos ( zombietools.net/tools/). Like that thing but than I take a look at the price, I'm more tempted to get a Zakasushi.

Just a quick note for admirers of the ZT Spit...time to check your wallets & gauge your desire - it's slated for retirement in the near future.

Bummer. Really like that one, but can not afford it.

Too bad. That was the only ZT I was thinking of getting. I guess it won't be happening now.

I have been playing with the new Phalanx off and on for a bit now. At first I thought it was very clunky. It's still a bit clunky when held still or moved through short movements. But in power strokes and brute attacks, or really anything where you really get it moving, it works pretty darned well. Better than you'd think from initial handling.
This week I decided it was time for the dogs to get a special treat. I took out a pork roast that had started to go bad. I did a couple of cuts with the Phalanx through the hip ball joint and surrounding bone and meat. I really laid into it on the first cut and could have gone through two of them. The result was a cleanly severed hip joint. The second cut was done more from a fighting strike with intent. The result was the same, it just didn't go as far into the cutting stand beneath.
This thing is a BEAST! But more controllable than you'd imagine.
