yes, and if his answer is the same one I always give you about my green baby than I can deal with that, but the discussion will happen I think. I can accept that just like I accept and secretly love the discussions about The-Sword-Sean-Will-Never-Own. LOL
sorry, couldn't help but tease you there.

great video there Mike. never get tired of hearing that sound it makes, good stuff! reminds me of the one Tom made for the Thorpe awhile back. hearing it sing while effortlessly cleaving through targets and seeing him demonstrate the blade being one giant sweet spot, i was sold! not to get off topic but until Tom's reply i had not realized all but that one had the false edge sharpened past the clip point. i too prefer it without this feature, aesthetically. i assumed when i ordered mine it would be the same as the one in the pictures and video.

yup the clip being sharpened beyond the peak was a feature that was added after the prototype based on the feedback we had and, well I thought it sounded like a good idea.
the good news is that after the false edge got extended the sword weighed just a little bit less and really came a live in handling. so the production version handles a lot better but I have to admit in retrospect that the original looks cooler. it is programed in so there's no changing it. besides performance is king and it performs better the new way. Mike has the new type in his video here so if you like the way his looks then that's good because that is the way it is going to look.
This sword is such a beast of a cutter. and as good as the one I use in this video is, the ones that have come after have been better. the one Mike is using, I think, is one of the shorter ones with the 28" blade. I believe that was the one he liked better. they are both exactly the same story when it comes to sweet spot and cutting ability: off the charts.
of the ATrim swords I have sold, there are a hand-full that I really wish I could have hung onto. they are (in no particular order): Thorpe Falchion, XIIIb.1, XIX.1, and XVIIIa.1 (phat bastard) and then there's the one I am still trying to get Gus to make that I simply MUST have the Xa.4 (36" blade spike hilt style with brazil nut pommel in an early crusader theme) he has the program for it and I think it would amazifying but I have not been able to get him to make one.

Hahahaha, yea yea, but you were telling me with regards to that long'n you got from Tom. You know I like my falchions short. This 28 version Mike and Marc have is much more my speed. Almost like a beastly messer. I'm sure I will when I get around to it. Might be a while, though. As I predicted, once I finished school and moved out west I've put the sword fund on very low priority compared to my other real person expenses. Haven't bought a sword in almost a year.

Great cutting Mike, and a very interesting comparison of these two swords. I own versions of both of these blades but have not cut tatame with them myself, so it's good to see what they can do in the hands of a skilled cutter. I really loved the consecutive looping left-to-right cuts you pulled off with the falchion, just wicked man!!

God, I love the "ring" that the falchion makes when it cuts through a target...
