Got my Ronin Dojo Pro #14 in!!! It had been a long time waiting and it finally arrived, my first of many Ronins. Everything about this sword is spot on, from properly alligned habaki, to tight, immovable ito over beautiful black rayskin. Plus who can resist the +3 dexterity boost took a few pictures, and here's what I got! look at that ghost hamon

Wow, that's a beauty that is! I too have a ghost hamon ronin, but the hamon on mine starts about half way up the blade, goes from the edge up towards and beyond the spine and then reappears on the spine and goes down towards and falls off the edge just before the kissaki... Yours looks epic! I still love mine though, I think the wonky ghost hamon gives it character and personality rather than anything else and I love it dearly. It is and will always be my "Ghost Ronin" Thanks fr sharing!

Yeah that is one of prettiest RDPs I've seen so far. The Ghost Hamon is something that makes the sword so unique being that it is a TH sword. I don't quite understand the ghost hamon though. What makes this happen on a TH blade? Does it affect the blades performance or edge hardness at all? Also, is it intentional or something that happens to TH blades 1 out of 100 or something? In any case it makes the sword look that much cooler & RDPs already have a very beautiful setup for the price. Its Koshirae are 2nd to none in the <$300 price point. Beautiful sword man.

the only thing i can think of causing a ghost hamon would have to perfect conditions in the heat treat oven. maybe when its cooling the weather was cool enough to speed harden the leading edge leaving the spine to cool slower giving just a hint of a hamon? or perhaps the back was resting on a rack that held in some of the heat? i'd have to ask Ronin to find out

Hi guys, It is really very interesting that RDP's have ghost hamons. Mine has ghost hamon too, which starts in the middle of the blade. Gregorio
