Hey everyone, I was just looking at sevenstarstrading and I found this! It's a bit out of the $300 price range but it looks really cool! It's described as being an exact replica from the Hebei Provincial Museum and is made of sanmai! Wish it had more pictures because the background doesn't do it any justice... here's the link to Mr. Rodell's site sevenstarstrading.com/site/longquanjian/

Its a Huanuo product, It just happens to be called a Longquan Jian. I almost plunked money down on this when he showed it on his Facebook page. But I'd already decided on the Jue Yun Jian (MADNESS I know, I could get this for 300 bucks cheaper with the same blade, but the heart wants what the heart wants, right?)

Oh nice... I wonder what the durability of that black paint/patina is on the fittings? I am tempted by this sword as I quite like exact replicas but what puts me off is their trading terms for international shipments. No returns and all sales are final.

I saw this about a week or two ago on facebook. I would like to see some more pictures of the blade. I wanted to get this, but I can't bring myself to spend that much money on a sword with the all too common rosewood and brass fittings.

Yes it is. Sad really as I don't know of anywhere in the UK or EU that specialises in Chinese swords. "Due to long potentially long Customs delays, all international sales are final. The purchaser assumes all risk of damage from shipping." www.sevenstarstrading.com/site/ordering/

yeah, from what I understand Seven Stars Trading is the only distributor of Huanou in the USA. I think there is Mandarin Mansion available for the EU, though last time I checked they're still constructing that site...Mandarin Mansion also sells antiques along with Huanou.

Seven stars trading doesnt skimp on packaging so damage would be unlikely. Better yet, they are honorable; i dont think you would have to worry about them shipping you a lemon just to get rid of it because international sales are final. I think their main point is that it's not their fault if customs seizes your sword. No curved swords allowed in UK without special papers I think right? So the jian should clear customs, eventually. If it was me with the cash burning a hole in my pocket I would definitely take a chance on SST and soon be rewarded with a shiny new Jian.
Maybe shipping to Afghanistan pretty risky but UK should be fine..

I think they would still replace a damaged sword, but I don't think they would refund if thats what you wanted. I don't know though, I'd have to ask. But I'm not worried either way, when I've fully paid for my Jue Yun Jian, I have every confidence that it will arrive safe and sound and be a quality work of art
