In my opinion, the Budo is the best sword you can buy under $700. I own two of them myself ( one of them has Bo-hi and CHoji hamon which makes it a rare collector's item).

This post makes me miss my Budo. I love the koshirae, because the designs and textures all match up, and the tsuba doesn't have ugly holes/gaps in it. Unfortunately, my Budo cut Frankthebunny pretty bad and he's been on the sidelines for a while. And we all know that his health and recovery is more important than me having a neat sword to look at and play with right away, so I'm not really minding the away time. But posts like this make me miss it a little.
Your Budo came with some extra bells and whistles than mine did (leather ito, samegawa wrapped saya). It all goes really well together.

So you are the reason I cannot get any Tsukamaki done ! You owe me reparations (your Budo for starters)
A Ricky sharpened blade also landed me in the emergency room a few weeks back...At least you know it is going to be a nice clean cut and heal with no scars

Yeah... I've renamed my Budo to an " Muramasa" since Dr. Whom's Budo sent him to the Emergencey Room too. These Budos are so bloodthirsty.

Hey Ricky, thanks for the concern. it was my mistake and can happen anytime you handle sharp swords and loose concentration for even a split second. with the amount of blades I handle I consider myself very lucky I haven't been in worse situations. this new Budo looks amazing. I love the crisp lines and very neat kissaki and of course the elegant suguha hamon. no doubt this will be another classic (even without the leather). I am still hoping to get a closer look and give it an all points inspection are the specs available on your site? to all who are patiently waiting for work to be done I must apologize, it's been one thing after another including a really bad cut which now looks like there could be some possible permanent nerve damage (I don't see that it's all that bad really but the doc might not agree, lol) hey, I've got 19 more right? the entire floor of my workshop had to be taken off and re-laid due to heavy water damage so everything had to be moved out for a while. I was also lucky enough to be caught up in the hurricane in NY while attending a family wedding and I got to take home a wonderful flu as a "leaving NY gift" which I basically just awoke from today (missed the NC renfaire!) this should be enough BS to hold me off for at least the rest of the year right? but really, I'm not complaining :? I plan on resuming all work first thing Monday so not to worry, it shall be done....eventually  thanks for holding on guys! Ricky, sorry for hijacking but I figured this was a good place to reach out since most if not all my current clients are big fans and will be looking here at some point, lol

I tested the first and second Gen Budos for Ricky including Dr.Whoms choji.I been saying it from the start, the man knows his stuff! The best kats in their price range and the best cutters bar none.Nothing else compares. You want a quality tool for proper shizan tameshigiri, these are it.Mine is second gen,no hi,suguha hamon,Japanese imported tetsu silk Ito,hishigami, great samegawa, large greenish emperor nodes, blackened aged iron moko gata nami tsuba, nami fuchi/kashira and bushi menuki.Only blade I've used that cut as well was a very thin Japanese made blade that much more money. He also completely reprofiled and sharpened my Raptor shinogi zukuri. My primary bamboo cutter,it has been thru close to 1000 poles,at least 4000 cuts since his work and will still cleanly slice paper.

No problem Ricky, Thank you for hooking this one up.
I'm glad everyone likes the blade. It's very spiritual yet deadly. It's funny, I showed this one to my uncle who is a gun collector, and he fell in love with it! He wants to buy his first sword now.. hehehe
