Marc's right, for all of albion's qualities, they are not brought out by historical manufacturing. Still, what you get is a sword of the exact same quality as one in say, 1347, but made with higher quality and uniformity because of the modern manufacturing process.
That really doesn't put me off though. When it comes down to it, a sword is still a sword regardless of whether or not it was made accuractly or not as long as the final product is accurate. Sort of why I don't see a lot of the hype in a nihonto compared to a bugei, if I could make that comparison.

I thought that albions were forged and then milled into a final shape...
anyway they still seem to have a little more soul than Atrims... don't ask why, it's just my perception. Probably because of the countless hours of research and effort put in by their workers, notably Peter Johnson.

I completely agree with that sentiment. Gus' blades are working blades to me. Albion Next Gen swords are working swords too, I guess. They are definitely durable enough, just prettier and more historically accurate in te hilt. That's why Gus has been threatening to bring out another line of peened hilt, more historic versions of some of his most popular blades. If Gus sees this maybe he can fill us in on the plan...I know he's mentioned it elsewhere, but things take time to work out. However, I can't comment on the historic feel of a Christian Fletcher sword with an AT blade, as I've never handled one. That might go a ways toward changing my mind about the whole "spirit and soul" thing. This is one good looking sword Mike Congrats on your new acquisition and waiting patiently for the cutting test Thanks for the nice comments, guys. And JP, I will definitely have some cutting video to show soon. And FINALLY!...I got some video of this sword done today. The more I use it the more I like it. Great job, Gus! EDIT: Sorry, had a couple of extra characters in the link. Works now.

Thanks Mike. Nice setup. She cuts like butter, who sharpened her? As much info as possible on Gus' swords is appreciated. I think I can speak for all in welcome of Gus' presence at SBG.
After all we'll all eventually go over $300 when finance allows, and we want to stay at SBG.

Hi Brenno,
I haven't done a thing to this sword besides upwrap it and keep it oiled. Gus' swords come plenty sharp and this one is no exception.

Wow! Nice work you did there! You cut with a bit of Japanese taste, but your zwerchau is totally German. VERY COOL! KUDO!
