I have been excited about this movie sword since Museum Replicas posted it on their site. It had been listed as available this summer and then recently this fall. I was giving up hope. Then I saw KOA listing them in their new items. I work about 20 minutes from KOA, so off I went yesterday at lunch. I wasn't expecting much, I just wanted a carbon steel replica to hang on the wall. As long as it was reasonably well built, I had commited to buying one. Anyway, here are some quick pics. I'll take some better ones in the daylight.

Funny thing is I think Albion made a reproduction of this in their Filmswords division at one point... it's off their website now unfortunately, but I think you can see it with 'Wayback Machine'.
Anyway, this is a nice piece! Do you know if it's full tang? I understand it's all of like 4 or 5 lbs, which is a bit hefty for the size...

Wow, I didn't know Albion made a version of this. I would love to find one for sale. This is one of my all time favorite movie swords. I'm not sure if it is full tang or not. The pommel is rock solid so I'm guessing it is glued in place. I'm not wiling to remove it to find out. I would if I had expectations to cut with it. This one is going on the wall. It rings like a bell when the blade is tapped and has surprisingly good balance. It is heavy. To me, it is a pure fantasy piece that happens to be made of carbon steel. Honestly, I would have bought this sword even if it was a stainless wall hanger. The things I like best about this piece is the red "jewel eyes" and the cool looking patina they managed to get on the blade and castings. The castings even have believable pitting marks. The blade has a pretty cool worn look and parts actually look a bit blood stained. Overall, I really like this piece and am glad Museum Replicas got the rights to reproduce this sword. KOA is selling it at their usual cost savings on Windlass products. For the price, I couldn't be happier. I will definately be picking up the Horseman's axe as soon as that one is available.

It is a hollow, non-magnetic cast alloy. The guard, handle and pommel are three seperate castings.

albions was pretty sexy, but very short lived... we (TexasSPR) are working on one also, ours was carved by a fantastic inhouse artist (Tom Terrell) its great in hand, 3 pieces... the guard and pommell wll be cast in bronze adn the handle will be done in carbon kevlar... full tang blade, all of it was stream lined down as the film used sword was BEEFY, super large to show more details on screen.

This looks fabulous, what size blade is going on it, personally I think it would work on something similar to Albion's Dane or Maxilmilan

I have the sizes at my shop ill put them up later tonight, but ill probably do a spring steel blade like my other European style blades, there battle worthy and not as expensive so they keep the sales cost lower:)

Did you forget about blade spec's?? I'm digging this one a ton, and would like to know more as well. I tried your website, but that wasn't much help either. Did you give up on this??
