Lutel makes sharps on request so I guess Marek will also, at least there is no law preventing him...

Lutel will produce their weapons with a sharp edge for a modest charge of 30$ to 32$ US depending on the exchange rate.
This is an excellent value, as the edge on the Sword I received was very well executed. The blade body was tapered to the edge smoothly, and the edge is ready for service as soon as unpacked. The way that I understand it is that they forge the blades differently for blunt or sharp, as in they leave more material for a blunt, or forge the blade taper to the edge for a sharp. They don't just produce a blade then grind the bejeebers out of it to make it sharp in other words. No steep secondary bevels.
From the ArmoryMarek website, the very first question in their FAQ section-
I underscored for emphasis.

The old Atrim backsword is still a favourite of mine, too bad they aren't around anymore: Without the false edge, it would have been my ideal sword. Pretty sure I've never seen one reviewed, but I've be interested in reading such a review if it exists. The blade geometry looks kinda plain, but I'm still a bit interested in it because of it's unusual dimensions. Though, I don't care for the furniture.

I would like to see detailed pics of the DSA Hand and a Half Saber blade myself.
The blade may very well lend itself to some adjustment in geometry, along with a furniture rework, to produce something that would be a bit different. The guard just doesn't jibe very well for me.
Seeing as it is only a 30 inch blade though, I have not pursued the idea to any extent. At 33 inches or better, I would be far more motivated.

There are a few threads dealing with them over on MyArmoury.com.
Google search- ArmoryMarek review
You should come up with some info.

I wonder if they could make it with a simpler, smaller crossguard and a straight blade...?

Well, thanks to some input from Chuck, I'm a fair bit smarter than before. Or at least a bit clearer.
So, yet another question! Since the newest version of the CSGM seems to be a solid improvement over its previous incarnations, I wonder...can it actually be had in Europe? Or are stores here just selling off their old, loose-pommeled, lousily-balanced, rattling-guarded stock?
