Looking for someone to make me a custom Sgian Dubh. Would prefer someone in Canada but willing to go anywhere.
The Sgian Dubh must be a real weapon and not just a decrative piece.
This for me to where when I get married. Plan on a full blown Scottish ceremony

I'd post that question over at Don Fogg's forum. There are quite a few very skilled craftsmen over there that often post sgian dubhs.

What type are you looking for? Are you looking for a modern version or and older one. I have a stag handled one I picked up at the Texas Ren Faire a decade or so back. Can't remember who I got it from, but I'm sure there are other people out there that can make something like it if that is what you are wanting. Its not the best picture in the world and I would get some better photos of it but it is in storage right now. If you decide you want one that looks similar, I can dig it out and take some better pictures. In the meantime, I'll try to see if I can track down where I got it.

You should talk to tantoman (here on the forums), I'm pretty sure he posted a custom DH Sgian dubh in the classifieds a while ago... Either that or I just saw it on his website. Anyhow, go talk to him. Check out the scottish dirk some pics down on his web page: www.sandiaforge.com/other-blade- ... ilable.htm

Don't forget Vince Evans. He's about as authentic as you can get outside of Scotland, I believe.

Vince Evans does not really cater to commissions outside of his own interests at the given time. You might ply him with fine spirits or become a life long friend and that may encourage a piece born of his inspirations. he has had a number of patrons in the past decade that have qualified but it is certainly not as easy as sending him an email or phone call..
