Hi again,
several weeks ago, I posted a new topic regarding a Katana or Iaito for practicing Iaido for women. I decided to go for a Iaito since I'm a professional musician and chose a great japanese one.
I'm going to post the review in this post and am now starting with the first post, saying that the loooong wait is nearing its' end: It has been shipped on May, 25th and according to DHL reports it is now in Leipzig Germany, only a few hundred km from my hometown
The key datas are: It's a Iaito from tozandoshop.com, to be precise, it's the Custom Workshop Iaito since I needed a considerably shorter and above all lighter blade.
The customer service of tozando is to be highly recommended (what a crazy phrasing But I really want to emphasize it) ! They answered fast and precisely (if not, then they inquired again) and helped me a lot with the decision process. To top it off, the expected shipping date was June, 4th, but they managed to do it 10 days earlier!
My expectations are quite high, I hope I'm not disappointed, but since tozando is highly recommended by so many customers and also by one of my Senseis who has much experience with Katana and Iaito made in Japan, so I'm quite confident.
Note, that it'll be an Alluminium blade, not sharpened and a fake hamon of course. So regrettably there's no fancy stuff like folded steel, real hamon etc. But in its' category it should be a real fine piece of work.
Last point for now: At the end of my decision process (and that was a long way to go!!!) I decided between buying at tozando or nosyudo (formerly together with swordshop.com). Both should be of really high quality craftsmanship, but the pros were on the side of tozando, last not least because of the free shipping which is in this case a DHL express shipment! I think that's great service!
In a few days I hope to receive my precious soul and as soon as I have good pictures, I'll post them in here. Hope you find this interesting.
So long, Honey
P.S.: I edited this post since I found so many grammatical and logical faults
