I checked Barta's stuff, and I must be the odd man out, I didn't see single one I liked. But that custom Albion.. Wow.

That sword is beautiful, very very nice. Is that a custom one off blade as well, looks to be? At first I thought it might be a Reeve/Stamford blade, but now I see it is not. And it looks too broad to be a Knight blade.

From what I can tell, it is the Reeve/Gaddhjalt pommel and a similar guard to the Mercenary. Blade is a Knight.

I e-mailed Patrick Barta with an interest in a sword and asked what the waiting list time was. Got a response saying I had been added to the list and nothing else.

Nice job on the Del Tin Luka. Really changes the sword.

I sent him a similar request. Le's see if I get the same answer. The last time I checked it was about 3 years.

I was right. The current wait is 3 years. I'm on the list as well. I guess that gives us plenty of time to figure out what we want doesn't it. I'm hoping you and Mike Harris will help me out figuring out what it is I'm going to commission with him.

He only has a few models (lower priced) I would consider. If his prices go up much more, you will have a shorter wait Mike. :-)

Would it be rude to have him make a copy of Mike Harris sword?

Then I must be rude.
It is one of his regular catalog items though.

So how does Mike feel about this? I was thinking of asking him to do a "sister sword" of sorts.

Well - since it is a regular catalog offering and who knows how many are out there, figure Mr. Harris would be fine with whatever you decide.
You know that a 3-year waiting list is a long time. I might be into a different hobby by then and only have a dozen swords left.

I'm kind of happy it's that long. It lets me graduate and save money. Are you going for the niello inlays as well? Seems to me those inlays were not included in the original sword, or at least he makes no mention of them on the site. And if you fear you'll be in to a different hobby and may sell off a majority of your swords I'd be happy to hold a few for you to help you resist the temptation of selling them.........Just doing my part and all.

I would skip the inlay if it did not come with it. Price is pretty high as is.

The inlay is inspired by an inlay on a similar sword but with plain fittings... And both guard and pommel are inspired by different swords. So this one is basically a composite of the best parts of three similar swords... :-D www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic ... llo+bartha

Would you be able to point me to swords with similar inlays? I'd like to do something along those lines but not exactly like the one we're referring to in this thread.
