Nothing too special about it. MRL first made a LARP version of it in foam and now this is your basic Chinese katana stuck into a Westernized hilt, with a gimmicky tsuba-- some of the gears spin around. Can't remember if there's a compass in the pommel and don't really care to bother to find out. My guess is the blade is probably sourced from Chinese forges which do work similar to, say, Musashi or Munetoshi level of blades. Like I said, nothing special... and honestly, I think a kyu-gunto style, Western style saber grip with knuckle-guard, would be far more appropriate to a 'steampunk' aesthetic than throwing gears and gimmicks onto everything...
